In fact, it turns out to be so simple when you explain it using a notion "process of getting something". Thanks a bunch!

While I used to learn English at school for years, my level didn’t progress that much... Now, as I’m getting used to your great program, I progressed a bunch. Also I’m used to your voice and so clear pronunciation I can say I'm "almost" fluent while some years before I couldn't beleave it was possible!🤩

Thank you for your explanation. These phrases are really important, but a little bit confusing. E.g. I used to enjoy reading magazines, but any more ( I am not sure it's one word or two). If you try using smth repeatedly you can get used it. Be used ? I didn't understand how to use it?
@putinisakiller8093 Жыл бұрын
...but I don't anymore (any more). I'm taught to read. I'm used to (do smth). It's like smth or smb used you to do smth other. 😊

Nice video except for the structure point you missed: “used to+bare infinitive” and “be/get used to+gerund”.

Hi and nice to make your acquaintance, Drew! Could you explain, please, if there is a difference between "I am used to playing chess" and "I am used to play chess". The latter seems to be equal to "I am used (by someone) in playing chess" = "They use me in playing (their) chess". Am I correct?
@iolite27 күн бұрын
"I am used to play chess" is not grammatically correct and is not used. "I am used to playing chess" is the only correct sentence you have wrote.
@NataliDali7 күн бұрын
@@iolite2 As you can see, I, actually, know the right grammar - it was not me who needed the explanation. I wanted to politely draw Drew's attention to his being wrong on this point, so as he could analyze and compare his own statements with the help of my logical reflections, and understand the real sense of the latter phrase.
