Thanks for another great video....I'll be trying that out.....I still want to see you do something with a floor tom to the left of the hi-hats...I believe that would open up so many new possibilities!...cheers buddy!

I'd loved to but my situation to teach right now is draconian..Just work that pattern open position and I'd be interested what you get on your kit. It would be killer I think.

I love coming here to learn about drums and the theory behind it. Your videos are always very engaging and informative. Bravo my friend!

Got a real bossa nova feel...your videos are great..in depth and interesting..i come from hand drumming background but started kit five years ago and those afro and Brazilian beats opened up a lot for me..i naturally played open handed without even knowing it was a .. thing.....seemed logical

Thanks man...continue to experiment MOVING your left hand from the hi hat to the snare and exp with moving your right hand. You become 2 drummers.

@@drummersagainstitk yes..agree..i sometimes put jam blocks on left as well...or a floor tom...great for experimenting with different feel .keeping that going with left hand lead while playing some type of melody right handed between other toms and ride is so good as you know....gonna watch all you videos...could take a while..😁👍💯

@@tubular167 I've done a lot of em' (310 I think!) I'll revamp my channel but I'm in a place that makes it impossible beyond my control. Let me know if you to know something in particular.

@@drummersagainstitk hiya..just saw the jazz drum film..whiplash...amazing...its got me trying out the double time swing......any tips on that would be useful in the future..cheers.i play a lot of odd meter stuff ..and was thinking of doing the double time in a 5/4 context as that works great with the swing feel

@@tubular167 Everything "depends" on who you're playing with and in context of what you're doing. Dbl time swingin should be used sparingly! AND imposing odd time over anything should be with players you've known for years. Esp if it involves specific songs!! Be very aware of who you're playing with and how applicable these things are. You'll get into problems with them.

Also, I wanna say rest in peace to Ginger Baker :( I adored his playing. Were you a fan of his?

Yes. He was an innovator fo our instrument. But he was not a good father or person.
