Hi bro. So glad I found your channel. Did you listen to the 12" extended dance mixes on the 80s? Tho at the time the mixes were not applied by drummers, they are indeed often stuttering the percussion. I think if a person wants to learn to stuttering drums mixed with traditional timing to allure a better sound. Or better put a unique sound of sorts. This is where to learn this. Altho I apply this method to all sorts of music styles from blues, to rock, including country and classic rock. It works but I'm 55 and been playing percussion since I was 6. So you are correct. It's a acquired skill. Also not to be implemented completely thru the song. I bet the stutter is thousands of years old.

You and I could talk hours on this subject. I remember living in LA and going to late nite clubs back then and all sorts of weird rhythmic stuttering was happening. I just didn't understanding why? Now I have a general understand. Any questions on drums, drumming, history ask me.

@@drummersagainstitk hi I will do. I was a dj in those dinosaur nightclubs in the 80s. I can play a lot of those 12" versions. You are absolutely correct tho. You need a solid base to stutter. Sir it is great meeting you. It's awesome to see a man devoted to teaching youth our craft.
