One day we all need to see a match between Dave and Bob of any discipline of pool. I think we’re all asking at this point.
@DrDaveBilliards
@DrDaveBilliards 2 жыл бұрын
Bob is 75 years old and not quite as sharp at the table as he once was, but it would still be a good matchup. Although, whenever we are together, we are usually too busy and tired from working on projects to have any time to play.

It is so weird how enough people don't appreciate how powerful these knowledge are and how much work you put it to actually make what seem impossible so easily possible

@apexpredatorbilliardstraining that's a tall order. I consider Dr Dave as the authority in billiards theory cymatics, evidence and the most scientific (but still practical) and comprehensive pool instruction.

It's amazing what can happen on a pool table. It's all about physics and the world that we live in that makes this game we love so beautiful.

Amazing. I'd have never thought of this type of shot, you're so correct when you said not intuitive. Thanks for uploading!

Totaly counter intuitive! Good to know. Specialy liked the topspin with the doubble kiss. Thanks DrDave 👍

I wish I could see you join tournaments like the ones we see SVB and Joshua Filler play in. You have an insane amount of knowledge and it'd be nice seeing you perform against some of the today's competition. I believe you could win a lot of tournaments.

It takes a lot more than "knowledge" to compete at the pro level. See: billiards.colostate.edu/faq/advice/pro/ I am lacking many things on the list. I am a professional instructor, not a professional player.

The fact that this Aramith measle cueball is heavier than any other cueball definitely helps with the herd shots.
@DrDaveBilliards
@DrDaveBilliards 5 ай бұрын
@@robdetuinman2 All shots in this video can be executed with any typical CB. I don’t think the measles ball weight is an issue. They are used in many pro tournaments.

I'm confused on the 1:32. There's stripes and solids so i assume it's an 8-ball game. How can you pot the 8 ball while hitting the stripe first? Don't you have to pot your balls before the 8 ball? Even if you pot all solids and are on the black isn't it illegal to hit the opponent's ball first? Or was it just a demonstration of what to do if you have 2 of your balls in that position?
@djamo1969
@djamo1969 2 жыл бұрын
It’s because this video is about the game of one pocket, where the object is to pocket eight balls in your designated corner pocket before your opponent gets eight in his. Players can pocket any ball at any time in this game.
@DrDaveBilliards

@@FiveN9ne There are many, many games that are played on the pool table. 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, one pocket, bank pool, straight pool -- all these are frequently played by top players. Add to that many games that are fun for beginners such as 6 ball, cribbage, cut throat, 7 ball, partners 15-ball rotation, Honolulu, etc. Playing a variety of games will introduce you to shots you don't normally consider.

These Herd shots look interesting and I plan to try them out of curiosity. However, I don’t recall seeing this technique used in the many professional pool matches I’ve watched online (I watch mostly 8/9/10 ball). Is it because most professionals would prefer to play a safety rather than take the risk on a Herd shot?
