I was always close to Dad, but I truly bonded with Mama, after she passed my Sister saved me from trying to kill myself and I received the help I needed and Dad and Sister loved me even more. "father's golden boy" who had dropped out of college at age 21, was at that time, 31 and still living at home. I never went back. I got a career, married, a 30-year mortgage, and started a family. Full time minimum wage would be 29k a year. My 18 year old just got her first job out of HS (she is going to college in the fall) and she’s making 14 an hour plus tips

@@stevenmcglinn5954 it’s all relative. You can get a really nice 1 bedroom apartment in a good area for 1200 a month where I live. A studio is even less. So it’s 60% of your rental cost. That means your wages go further. Our food and transportation are cheaper too. At minimum wage, you pay no taxes only 10% social security. So your monthly check is 2175. Assuming you get a 2 bedroom and a room mate (which almost everyone does) you are looking at 750 a month for rent which is 34% of your take home pay. Not easy but doable.
