This is such a hidden gem. Think it was on Carol Kaye's label and everything. Was such a great idea then, still sounds amazing today.

Perhaps my favorite Joe Pass album. Here he is playing in a different style (to my ears anyway) funkier single line grooves with far fewer lightning fast arpeggios and chord melody type things. Great tone on this LP too.

Nice. Neat to hear Joe Pass with a bigger band -- and a great lineup. Little surpasses the Pass-J.J. Johnson duet album from Pablo. Like the liner notes said, "Playing without a net."

Thank you Lord for letting me find this beautiful ensemble of music. I love most genres of music, anything from classical to death metal. Never really got into jazz but I deeply respect the musicianship, complexity and talent. But this album blends so many styles together so beautifully! Big funk fan and guitar player so this molded with me immediately. I'm blown away. What a guitarist and talent Joe Pass was. As a music collector, trying to find this on vinyl is quite tough too haha

i dont know if is the mixing but sounded like if was recorded in 8 tracks reel to reel tape, the date said 1971, at that time most recording machines were 16 tracks or 32 tracks

Actually, in 1971 16 track machines were only recently invented so it is doubtful that they recorded using it for a low budget jazz project. 24 track tape machines weren't invented until 1974 and 32 tracks not until 1978.
