It cracks me up. 😂 How the manufacturers say middleweight. When they should be called heavyweight. And the big 1200 and 1300 should be called super heavyweight. Good video

Yeah but they are in the middle weight of the ADV market even though they are heavy, hence middleweight.

Totally agree. A 1200 or 1300 bike is totally unsuitable for anything other than tarmac. These bikes weigh 250kg plus. If you drop them, assuming you don’t get seriously injured, most people could not pick them up.

My mate bought a T7 back in 2023 after 20 odd years off bikes and it does everything. Motorways, scratching round the Isle of Man, the lot. His only complaint is the seat gets rock hard after more than an hour but he finds it a real "swiss army knife" bike for all situations. He bought a Z900RS for "touring" and has barely ridden it as the he finds the T7 just easier to get on with.

You have to chuckle at the guys standing and watching Kate presenting to camera at the show. They either have no clue whats going on, or they've fallen head over heels... Mike keep an eye on them lad 😂 For me the T7 is the winner. I rode the Transalp off road at the ABR and loved it, but the Tenere is the one for me. With the changes for 2025 and the frozen Titanium paint job, the base T7 is a firm favourite for next year. With some aftermarket bolt ons it would make a great replacement for the Tenere 1200 I currently throw around the countryside

@@daddystu7046 yeah for the road I quite agree. But for the off road stuff the T7 is more bias, and the ABS turn off issues of the Transalp would irritate for sure. But it's a brilliant bike and most owners will be more than happy. Plus that exhaust note is 👌🏻

Ive riden a few of these bikes, had a KTM, own a GS but have to say all of them have good qualities, there are no bad adventure bikes nowadays, we are spolit for choice, there is something to fit everyones budget! And budget is an important factor, especially if you do take it off road ( KTM clutch lever circa £150) It was close for me between the Africa Twin and the GS, i also love the Transalp (Kate needs to own one btw) but feel its a bit small for me, thats me, but there is soooo many great choices in this category. I couldnt go there this year, thank you for your vlogs Kate always right to the point and well made 👍

No heated grips, no cruise control, no quick shifter etc etc. i bought the CF Moto 800MT in the end, brilliant bike. There is a reason they all sold out very quickly.

I love the way Suzuki have chosen to resurrect the styling of the DR800 Dr Big (an 800cc single 🤯) which was almost universally agreed to be one of the ugliest bikes on the market when it came out.🤣 When I used to commute into Manchester for work, I used to regularly see a couple of despatch riders on Dr Bigs who lived on my route. One time I followed one of them to the front of traffic at lights, in between two lanes of cars. When he got there there wasn't enough room to lean his bike over far enough to get his foot down (Dr Bigs were BIG), so he just leaned his knee on the driver's door of the car to his left. The driver went mental, but he couldn't do anything 'cos he couldn't open his door! Then of course, wehen the lights changed, the bike just left him for dust🤣

Love the looks of the Transalp especially in that colour scheme. The KTM (having always said I hate 'em) seems to start interesting me more than it maybe should...! And it's a tie for last place between the BMW and Yamaha (both being bikes I would never allow to waste space in my garage). That leaves the T-Strom on top of the pile..., just not in that colour, yuck. I've never been a fan of Yellow bikes (or cars) and to add to my yellow dislike, the postmen/women deliver our Mail over here on yellow Mopeds, so i'd hate to ever get mistaken for a posty boy. So, the results are in.... 1 - Suzuki. 2 - KTM. 3 - Honda. 4 - Voge. And joint 5th, the Yammie and Beemer. As you see, the Voge figures in my list as I think it's a bike to reckon with in the future, especially if it sells in hundreds and thousands around the world, and the company plough money into further developing it, i.e. keeping up with the Jones's.

Got rid of the T7. Very top heavy, the brakes were laughable, and it wasnt comfortable for all day rides. Why buy an adventure bike if you can't ride it all day? What did i replace it with? 800DE. 15k miles later i can honestly say.......its a phenomenal moto. Is it perfect? Of course not, but i take it everywhere my buddies take their T7s and 890s, and have no problem keeping up. Lithium battery, SC project Ti slip on, and springs for my weight and capabilities is all it needed. It feels a little wide, but its all about compromise. I value reliability, comfort, ease of maintenance and low end engine power. I can make up for its short comings with talent and experience.

@@Toxicdemon2 BMW does a little thing called quality control. People went banns when they heard that the 850 motor was made in china and yet, no serious issues has been reported.

@@simulacrae Every brand has had to recal a model at some time. With or without quality control... No brand is 100%. And not only engines but also electronics or switchgear etc get manifactures in China. If you own a KTM, Bmw, Honda, Yamaha etc.. even a Harley contains Chinese parts.

And I know a guy whom did over 30000 miles on a CFMOTO 800MT ( with that same 790 engine as the KTM ). With zero issues... point is that all brands are outsoursing to either India or China.

Excuse the rant but.....all these people complaining about calling them middleweights or whining that they're too heavy to take off road is absolutely ridiculous. They're only limited by the rider ability so if its just that they're too heavy for you, maybe you should get yourself to the gym or just go and buy yourself a Vespa. Either way, stop whining.

Way too expensive, all of them! Sophistication over-kill, all of them. There are so many second-hand motorcycle bargains available nowadays. Imagine getting stuck with one of them in Bolivia or Peru. It's a buyer's market. Stick with second-hand Japanese bikes. There are tons of them out there. KTM hahaha!

Nice video, i grew up in the uk, never rode a bike, spent 26 years in the u.s. never rode a bike 2 years in canada, never rode a bike, last 10 years living in italy, first 5 years never ride, february 2020 bought my first scooter bike yamaha nmax 125, august of this year traded it in for a sym joymax z plus, in nearly 5 years of riding, dont drive the car really anymore, i do ride the bike or scooter pretty much year round, except when it rains, in the uk your weather is really crap mostly, how does one ride year round? You dont, so the bike is not really used that much, just sits indoors. in some cases kind of pointless owning a bike. My question to you is, do you ride year round?

Kate. You & other attractive women biker vlogers are very fortunate to be able to do what you're doing & be successful. There's many very experienced & informative guys doing the same, but are nowhere near as popular or successful, purely because they're men...& not attractive women. It goes for many forms & topics on YT. Put an attractive & informed women in front of a camera of a mostly male audience & Presto, it's successful. Itchy Boots...extremely successful. Joe Ryan...not so. Both doing the same thing, both equally adapt, informative & watchable.

Same with a December launch I'm on, I'm the only female. Same as many a past launches - I'm usually there with mancavemoto, lambchoprides, english biker dan, 44 teeth gang, darcy and the old man, mcn, visor down, fastbikes... your theory doesn't apply to my practical 😊
