Kate, I want to compliment you on your riding skills. The slight roll-off pause between the two cars on the double-overtake, and the use of the wrong side of the road when a car presented itself on the poor view side junction clearly distinguished you from merely a good rider, to a very experienced rider. Wishing you many more years of keeping it sunny side up. 👍

Once again a fantabulous video (and thx to Mike 4 the excellent filming of the intro). The music for the intro was a wonderful and enhancing choice (should it interest anybody, it's 'Blinded by Love' - Zorro), and was probably written with this video in mind!! This release, pin points your progression, and shows how very professional you are becoming. As far as the bike goes...., well it's a Beemer, and I think we now know that they will never get into my top ten! However, it does look tempting in Green.... no stop it mate, for christ's sake, it's a BMW! This time around, it was more the video production and editing than the content that kept me stuck to my screen, but I did find,, despite having said that, there were sill a few titbits that I found interesting. Thank you UNK Productions.

Your production value has really leveled up, Kate! Great intro! The new GSA looks pretty solid. I remember when demoing the R1300GS, I felt they had really improved the quickshifter over the prior R12xx bikes. @@UsernameKate actually...I just discovered when specing up a bike using the Motorrad bike configurator that there are TWO DIFFERENT versions of the BMW adaptive ride height for the new 1300 GSA....both magically go up and down but one is permanently lowered by 20mm and is called "adaptive ride height comfort". Do you know if you had this permanently lowered "comfort" version fitted to the bike that you rode?

Yes this is comfort, the permanent one 👍 with a low comfort seat I should add.

I reckon if you were to part exchange it with a dealer, it wouldn't affect it at all (or at least it didn't when I was selling them) - because you get a lot of eyes on the bikes from people who want that dealer warranty or they just generally get decent foot fall. Privately might well be a different issue.

Another great review Kate. I take your point about it being a more stable bike to the GS1300, but the looks don’t float my boat, and I wouldn’t have one. As much as I prefer the 1250 in looks, I’m afraid I still didn’t get one of those either. I think after the 1200 they made the boxer to sanitised and smooth. So that’s why I ride an imitation GS in the form of the R9/T Urban GS in the GS80 colour scheme.

Yeah, the unveiling in Garmisch left me wondering what drugs the designers were doing. The more I’ve seen it being ridden has definitely improved my opinion of its looks. Triple black looks the best to me. Going with that, the comfort adaptive height, low seat and ASA. 5’9” and 32” inseam. Coming off the 35” seat height of a KLR 650 the GS should not be a problem as long as I stay off knarly single track. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.

Another great video Kate. I’m glad I went for the Tramuntana as my first ever GS. The 1300GS certainly had its haters but I loved the looks straight away. I am a strong believer that a variety of bike styles is a good thing and that as you say, looks are subjective, but thank goodness I didn’t wait for the GSA. My dealer invited me to come and look at it as “it looks so much better in the flesh”. Unfortunately I still think it looks awful. What does shine through with both is the awesome performance and handling. You are a real inspiration to the motorcycle community showing confidence and skill on a bike. Always love your videos. Superb riding Kate and no doubt the bike is a technical marvel. However, the design and aesthetics suggest it has been magnetised and wheeled through a scrap yard. Well in North America the trucks are huge and travel way faster than say in Europe. With this in mind they can blow you all over the road. OMG... when I hear about all the gadgets and gizmos that this bike has, it's a miracle that i'm still alive.... having ridden all my life without any of it all !! I've been riding since I was 15, right through to now, as a pensioner..., i've always had some kind of 2 wheeled maschine in my garage and have always preferred the simplicity of older bikes, where one rides with his accumulated skills, on all sorts of, and in all sorts of, weather and conditions. These said aquisitions, have filed down my cabilities, in my head and right wrist to a point where I know how far, and at any given time, that I can trust and push myself. But should it at any one time misfire, then i've learnt something for the next time I find myself in the same situation. Question: Is there not a little bit of the Brands manipulating us with all these "goodies", to sell it's bikes? I get the reason for some of theses new fangled "additives", but are they REALLY *all* necessary? Can we not be a good rider without it all?

+1 for the 4931. I always make a point of including that road whenever I've ridden North Wales

Hi Kate, enjoyed your review, I believe those ear projections are to stop the bike over rolling if it's crashed eliminating the need for upper crash bars. By the way mines on order same colour, an ASA one with all the bells and whistles, full luggage front and back to replace my 1250 GSA, silly money though 26.5k. Thank you.

Ewhhh sorry but so much prefer the 1200 or 1250 and the prices are just going silly, it’s a shame manufacturers are pricing bikes so high as dealers are going bust, just this week a long standing dealer with 3 franchise of triumph, Ducati and bmw has ceased trading with immediate effect in two and a deal is hoping to be done to save the bmw dealership. Lack of consumer demand is to blame 2023/24. Not the place to mention this I know but issues need discussing. Similar with caravan and Motorhomes dealerships, they to are closing nationwide due to price and consumers staying away… great review as always Kate 🎉
