Thanks for the video, very much appreciated! I have now ordered my NT1100 DCT ES to be delivered in spring 2025! I’m planning a trip along the Baltic from Hamburg to Tallinn, then ferry to Finnland, head north to Kirkenes in Norway and go along the Norwegian coastline to Bergen, across the mountains to Oslo and eventually back to Hamburg. All in this is going to be approximately 15.000 km and I plan to be gone for about 3 months. I will be reporting on my experiences, but I am pretty sure, that I have got the best possible bike for the trip!

Had a real long look at this at the Bike show this week and am very impressed. Interestingly, the guy on the stand said that anyone with the original jerky DCT system can take it to their Honda dealer for a free software update which will (hopefully) iron out the issue. Sticking with my Tracer 9GT for now though! Keep the content coming Kate, still up there with the most objective on YT.

Thank you so much for this initial review. This is the first I've heard of the new IMU module that works with the DCT. I understand exactly what you meant by the DCT changing gears in a corner. It's one of the things I haven't liked on my '22 Goldwing but I've gotten used to it and have learned to anticipate it. The IMU sounds like it's solved this problem, if I ever get the chance I'll try it out someday.

Great video as always, Kate. If storage and maneuverability was not an issue, I'd have one of these in a heartbeat. Test rode one last year and absolutely loved it. Sadly any bike I buy has to live under a soft cover in the front garden, which means manhandling it down a step from the street and then into position on slabs on the gravel, so I think it's weight is its only con for me in regards to my particular needs/capabilities. I think currently the XL750 Transalp is the one I shall go for next year instead (or at least that is the current favourite of all that I've test ridden).

Superb review Kate, as usual, open minded and honest. Ex Crosstourer DCT owner here, gutted that Honda never kept that bike upto date. I have the ‘23 manual version. It might not have sports bike power, but it’s got surprisingly good performance if you’re not afraid to ride it like you stole it. Coming from a ST 765RS I was worried that it might be a bit boring, but it’s very capable and plenty quick enough if you’re not wanting to go to jail. I want to test ride the DCT version, and if it’s as good as it appears I’ll be upgrading towards the end of ‘25.

I have a bit of experience on an older (manual) NT1100. What I disliked the most is the throttle: apparently Honda’s idea of different throttle response in different riding modes comes down to increasing/decreasing the resistance to throttle movement, and I found anything but the lowest resistance to be quite annoying to ride. Looking at the TFT screen in your review, this still seems to be the case. Other than that it’s a nice bike to ride - but you basically have to use User modes and luckily you can 🙂
@peterturner830Ай бұрын
