Oops, meant to say Evil Ryu, though I prefer the english VO for Ryu too.. He also has a badass intro, "Violence...IS WHO I AM!" I know it seems silly, but it's the only intro I don't skip when fighting lol.

It seems most of people taking huge damage output from daigo's evil ryu for granted, but seldom has ever noticed how well daigo's defense is done, especially for gen's cross-up attacks, which seem very hard to block...

Imo, E.Ryu is higher tier than Yun now while Gen isn't hidden high tier anymore. Still, great stuff from both Daigo and Xian.

Gen's grey damage ultra is one of the best in the game because it avoids scaling.

Guds Skyfall Scaling is a damage nerf in combos. Like if you go into training mode, put all the data on, do a full focus attack on a dude, then Ultra, the Ultra will only register at 80% full power. As a Gen user, I know that scaling is actually Gen's worse enemy. All his damage is combo based, as you get larger combos, the damage goes down. Like, the first 2 hits of a combo are 100%, the next one (third hit) is 90%, next is 80% and so on till it stops at 10%. Focus attacks and Ultras count as 2 hits. Supers don't. So basically, Gen's Shitenketsu (Ultra 2...think I spelled it right) IGNORES that scaling. If you have it full meter, use it (without Ultra Combo W) it should always do about 400 in grey life. Even if you do it at the end of a combo that would put your scaling down to 40% or whatever. Evil Ryu is a monster because his moves do so much normal damage that he can really just ignore scaling. Sometimes it's wiser to hold back your finishing moves that would use meter, since they may only do pitiful damage, that is not the case for Evil Ryu. I think his raw, EX-Shoryuken does like 190 (Ryu's heavy does 160, EX-140). That make sense?

Yeah, I know what scaling is mate, but really, are you certain Gen's U2 doesn't scale? It does like no damage whatsoever in some combos, I think. I distinctly remember Xian doing a long combo into Mantis U2 and dealing almost no grey damage.

I think the stun doesn't scale. The grey damage MIGHT scale. But still that like 600 stun is pretty significant. Even if the combo after words is heavily scaled down, it breaks the momentum.

Unfortunately Gen was nerfed way too much for the console version, in which he only has 450 stun at most on MU2. I don't know if U2 stun scales. I think so, but I can't say for sure.

Armond Curry Completely subjective of course, but to me a good commentator was always someone who brought a personal touch to the play-by-play. A degree of undeniable personality that never distracts from the match, only enhanced your enjoyment of it. And the more hype and enthusiasm he can bring to the mic, the better. See for example: IFC Yipes, Maximillian-DOOD, Filthierich, Prog and D1 for Smash and BloodBundy for KOF.

Armond Curry I for one find Zhi strangely funny and really knowledgeable. I enjoy watching matches when he's on the mic because he always says whatever comes to mind, no matter how inappropriate or weird. To me, that is endearing.
