How many "Points" do you need to get into Capcom Cup?
@LL-ej2im9 жыл бұрын
Depends on your rank, technically if you only had 1 point but you were still ranked high enough you'd still qualify

Can someone explain to me the pros and cons of each of Gief's throws?

Very late, but here’s the skinny. Pro to light SPD is some of the craziest range in the game, especially combined with combining his jump into a kara-throw. Sticky fingers can also buffer an SPD while crouching in the midrange and catch whiffed buttons. However, it does the least amount of damage and no change to the buttons pressed in 4 change the distance he’s left at. Medium is generally pretty good, nearly 200 damage and solid range, but it offers little more than a heavy would and heavy’s just as good of a situation anyway, if not better because of the damage. Heavy does 250 damage raw and can also punish whiffed buttons, but it has the shortest range of all of the buttons. His running grab is extra tricky, though. If you do it too far away, he will just run and try to get you. His animation when he runs and gets the grab is different in this game than point blank and leaves you further away. However, no matter the button you used for it, if you’re point blank, you’ll get the best situation. Damage isn’t as good as an Atomic Buster, but it leaves you with hard knockdown at close range and can setup his vortex. The vortex in SF4 can make or break matches for Gief and is critical to his gameplan. It also has crazy corner carry and the EX has armor properties for in case you were too far or did it too early on wakeup and they started pressing buttons immediately.

@@chrispythemostfriedchicken6010 Thank you. I was actually just watching this match the other day. What about normal throws? Are they part of the Oki as well, or do they get overshadowed by his command grabs?
@chrispythemostfriedchicken6010 Жыл бұрын
@@Y20XTongvaLand Both of his throws are pretty good for oki, but backthrow has very different timing, whereas forward throw puts the enemy at point blank range, optimal for his vortex. It’s also really good to mix up opponents who keep jumping when they think a command grab is coming since it recovers quite fast and you can lariat any jumps

Itabashi is an excellent player.. but he breaks down mentally before the matches are done.. similar situation as Poonko.
