Love your videos! Your channel, Rick Shiels, and MrShortGameGolf have been immensely helpful to me since I started playing again at the end of March(I'm 34 and haven't played since I was like 12 or 13 years old.) I played another sport for 20 years that helped me develop quite above-average hand-eye, balance, and functional strength which has translated well to being a quick learner as well as way ahead of where I should be with my golf skills. Got really out of shape due to COVID but I've been using golf to get out and get some exercise. Channels like yours and the others I mentioned help me with golf-specific skills. I've played four or five rounds on a local nine-hole par-three and only ever lost two balls while shooting between +10 and +15. Played nine on the par 72 for the first time last week, only lost one ball, and shot 60. Pretty good for a 34 year old born-again golf newbie who is out of shape, I'd say. Very devoted to improving and your videos have been a big part of my progress so far. Thanks a lot!

I don't have line view. Is there anything I can use instead?
@USGOLFTVshow2 жыл бұрын
Certainly, so the Live View is great at helping us convey the concepts we teach, and has great instant feedback. You can always record yourself from face on with your phone, and look for two things: 1. Make sure the lead hip is over the lead foot (60/40 pressure at address) 2. When you finish the swing, your knees should look like they're touching. Focus on those two positions and you are on your way!

LOL, we hear ya! Make sure you are completing your full hip turn and getting your weight to your trail foot in the backswing. 👊

Something is definitely wrong. You show the hands leading the golf club at impact in slow motion. Then I play your actual swing back in stop motion and the clubhead is actually leading your hands at impact.
@USGOLFTVshow Жыл бұрын
The idea is to feel like the hands are leading at impact. Now, each golfer has a different release pattern. Some are more diggers, forward shaft lean, some are pickers, slight clubhead lead....both work.
