Todd, this particular lesson on ball position, hand position, and PRESSURE position are extremely valuable to the average amateur golfer. Weight distribution, for me, and pressure distribution confuse many of us. Much easier to put pressure on your front side than it is trying to figure weight. I have a tendency to put too much weight on the front side. Even if you swing over the top or sweep around your body, these three tips are invaluable.

Highly insightful and informative Todd, especially the explanation and visuals on weight/pressure movements and how it should feel. So many instructors tell you what to do but do not tell what to feel which is crucial to execution. I can’t tell you how many of my social golfer mates make the comment “instructors say what to do but not what to feel to execute it”. The feel is the “4th dimension” of golfing if you ask me 😉😀.

I know it was only a part of this lesson, but the tip about keeping 50-60% of weight on the lead foot has helped me with everything from compression with irons to consistently striking my drives. I still have issues 'fatting' some wedges, but that is probably a ball-position thing. Many thanks, Todd - you are now the only online coach I follow.

Excellent. I have struggled with my irons (6-9). I started putting the ball back a little more than you suggested because as I watxh my practice swing I noticed the bottom of my swing was bottoming out several inches back from center. That worked better. Then as I started hitting clean, I noticed every shot was going right. I tried a few things to fix that. The only thing I have found so far that works was to take my right hand hand and put it over the top of the club a bit more. So far, my shots are much better. Any other suggestions for me so I don't have to put my right hand over the top?
@davidmarr95293 жыл бұрын
Great video. Can you explain how to work the club more in front of you on the way down without a shank resulting? I am asking so as to avoid flipping my hands when I come at the ball from too much on the inside. Thanks

LOVE. Vertical swing...hand position is my key points to heed a good shot..my problem is that I use to much my right hand. I came over the top..some time I pulled o slice...I have to swing..relax..with tempo..and is not ese for me every time.

Hector, thanks for posting. Check out our tempo drills. They will help with the overuse of the right hand. 👊

What do you focus your EYES during down swing?
@chrisjeffers73003 жыл бұрын
viewed 2 vlogs recently stating that ball slightly forward works, as it forces you forward, but I like ball centerish with weight forward. My key is to focus on a spot 2 inch in front of the ball and bottom out there. But also I make certain I have the left hand correct.

I've been having that problem my entire golf life..My left side bails out (i step out before i hit ball).Funny thing is,I don't do this when I'm on the driving range..Most of the time that is!.I've tried that drill,but it keeps happening..Any thoughts?? thanks so much..joe

The third method you described appears to be "weight forward" as prescribed by "Stack and Tilt". Out of curiosity, what don't you like about this swing method?
