What a final result ! The attention to detail is massive here. Pushing boundaries is what making music and production is all about and this is pushing that guitar tone to the next level !

The funky EQ curve on the Omega amp... Was it the result of tone matching? Or you were ruthlessly sculpting it? If the latter I am very curious of that process. That guitar sounds amazing.

Did you use Voxengo Deconvolver to export GGD IR's? Or is there easier way to export them?

Red Keep? Keep getting out the hidden gems. For a unique guitar tone you can check out the song "Inward" by Afterglow.

When can a tutorial on how to create Mick Gordon’s guitar tone be released? According to Mick Gordon, he mixed the sound of a chainsaw sample with the guitar sound, but how exactly is it done?

he used zynaptiq morph plugin, this thing lets you *literally* morph sounds together. it has a free trial, you can mess around with it if you want to.

Are there situations where you use different amps in combination?
@MOMetalProductions
@MOMetalProductions 10 ай бұрын
Yes, for sure! But only when quad tracking to avoid phase issues. If I want more beef to a part but less definition I might layer in a quad layer of the Omega or Nameless

@@MOMetalProductions Thanks for the reply Mattias. I always tell myself to NOT quad track but I always end up quad tracking. Therefore, I use two amps for the two pairs. I never thought of doing this to avoid phase issues, but I guess if those came up one would notice.

@@Zareh_Abrahamian Another really cool alternative or something to switch sections is use a double track with a single middle take that's quite clean and modulated... creates an amazing sense of both depth and clarity to a heavy mix that's sometimes that quads don't do... swap between them though, and it can be awesome.

bro that EQ xD What's the point of EQing guitar so heavily soloed? Why not in context of whole mix?
@MOMetalProductions
@MOMetalProductions 10 ай бұрын
The initial EQ is done in the context of the mix, then lifted over to the guitar session. The tone matched eq's are done to that one so a tone which I know works in the mix. If I can get the matched tone close to that one I know it works in the mix. I agree that doing that much EQ from scratch in solo would be totally pointless

@@MOMetalProductions im not trying to troll you but do you realize what you just said? You fixed the tone in the mix then out of the mix you changed it to make it sound better? How does that make any sense?
@MOMetalProductions
@MOMetalProductions 10 ай бұрын
@Durkhead on the original guitar tone (the Omega) it's the exact same moves that I did in the mix that are carried over into the guitar session. I am not changing it in solo, I am just matching the other amps sonically to that one in solo 🙂

You must have done something in a past video i liked i honestly just subscribe to every channel i watch cause its good for your channel and its easy an free for me. Its just that in the last 2 videos youve basically done everything wrong, you notched heck out of the eq, your not listening to the guitars in the mix, youve added 2 extra tracks of exactly the same guitar and the end result is just a wave of white noise. Im sorry i really try not to be negative but at the same time i feel like i should be honest And give feedback

@Durkhead My opinion is that nothing is ever "wrong" in music. If you dislike the final mix, fair enough. But if you are getting the results you are after, how you got there doesn't really matter to me. The final listener won't sit there and go "Wow this sounds amazing" only to find out the mixer used a certain technique or 99% of their CPU power and go "This is incredibly inefficient, I now thoroughly dislike the song". IMO the first question always needs to be "Am I getting the results I'm after?" and if the answer is yes, then keep going and make it more efficient if possible, but that's just a bonus to me.

@@Durkhead Just to adress the other points here to be thorough, I am making the first initial tone in the context of the mix (as said in the video), the others are matched to a tone that I know works in the mix. Secondly, I am not adding multiple copies of the same guitar pair, that would create phase issues. I am only using one amp for one section, unless I am quad tracking.
@Durkhead
@Durkhead 10 ай бұрын
@@MOMetalProductions i never said anything bout cpu usage you could set your cpu on fire for all i care, i agree with you if it sounds good who cares how you got there. However your end result was not that good theres so many different things you couldve done that would have sounded better like for instance if a certain part lacked clarity or u wanted to bring out the stringyness as you say you could add a di track to that part or if a part was was to dark sounding u can add a distorted guitar track with no ir to bring up the mids the method you used took a whole bunch of time and the end result to me wasnt really worth it because it just ended up sounding like static. Next time you finish your mix listen to it on a phone speaker if it sounds like a white noise sleep machine you did not do a good job, a good mix will sound clear on every speaker
