What a great collab with your viewers! I'd say they're all successful, but the Geometric Shirt is my favorite. The seams really complete the design :)

I’m really glad I found your content on Instagram. The concept of blending fashion with 3D printing is so cool. It’s really inspiring. I’m a graphic designer and 3D printing is the one of many things I wanted to know more about. You’re hard on yourself but your work comes out so well. My favorite was the 3D style black shirt design but the peplum came out so cute.

Also, I'm a fan of anyone who reuses previous failed parts for projects later. Well done in reusing instead of throwing away. Remelting and forming new filament is possible but it's expensive and you need large extruder equipment. I'd like to know if you will/have made something entirely out of repurposed sections? What I mean is, have you tried using many failed pieces to get a unique work? Eg, I used a failed print as a solid waterproof cover for electronics on my electric mountainboard. It's not fashion but the reuse is the point.
@SewPrinted3 жыл бұрын
Totally on the same page with you. I have a drawer full of these and one day when I have enough I’ll definitely turn them into something new. I do use them every now and then like for example to decorate “the tree” in my sweater video. Super cool to hear you’ve done so too and for such a practical application. Kudos to you💫👍🏼

I might’ve missed it but if you could answer that be great Is this all printed in tpu or pla? And are you using mesh to print on?

This is really cute, but I wonder how durable these are, and how well they would survive being washed

Great questions!! I plan to do some short videos on washing of the clothes as well as showing durability.
@impulsiveurge58372 жыл бұрын
what filament do you use? PLA?
@SewPrinted2 жыл бұрын
TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastometer) It's flexible and elastic, which gives it that fabric-like feel.

I'd like to ask about how you work on flexible regions, like a pocket, that are printed differently: Do you aim to make the general outline more dense than the inner or do you make a design that has infill that compensates for multiple sections that are rigid yet other areas have some give to allow the entire section to flex? Also, nice Acronym. Catchy, Fi Cu Cap
@SewPrinted3 жыл бұрын
Awesome question. Truth is I’ve done most of my “flexibility experiments” as random prints and haven’t incorporated them into a garment. Some of these experiments I’ve posted on my Instagram. In this case, since I was following some designs that were drawn out, I was mainly focused on the aesthetic goal of getting the shirts to look as similar to the drawings as possible. Your point of studying how certain portions may be more flexible and others may be more controlled is super interesting and I’ll see how Incan incorporate this into things I make in the future. Thanks for your comment 👍🏼
@3DJapan2 жыл бұрын
Now I wonder about resin. I have flexible resin. Should be safe for the skin when cured and only take a few seconds for a swatch.

Hello, great job on the collection - I think the abbreviation is fun - in my native language ”Fi cu cap ” roughly translates “be with head” or better translated “be smart!” :D I think in regards to these mixed T-shirts one question would be the washing process 😒😒😒 I am very interested in how does one wash these at the end of the day? Guess I would have to test make one and see how it performs ✌️ Very inspiring - keep up the great work!
@SewPrinted3 жыл бұрын
Wow!! Thanks for the insight on how it translates.. didn’t even cross my mind that it could have alternate meanings but “be smart” seems like a a good alternate use for Fi cu cap :) I totallyyyy agree in regards to washing. I’m thinking I’ll do a video where I’ll talk about that as well as wear and tear of other things I’ve made to see how well they hold up after some time has gone by and such. Thanks for your comment! Means a lot to me.

hey! i really like your content! i am actually a fashion major looking to getting into the use of 3d printing in my garments so these videos are really interesting to me and to see how you print your textiles : ) a few questions: what 3d printer do you have and what 3d modelling software do you use?
@SewPrinted3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I have like 6 printers now hahaha but I mainly use my Artillery Sidewinder X1. I use either Sketchup or Rhinoceros for 3D modeling. If you’re looking to start, I think Sketchup is a good tool since there’s a free version. There are other commonly used tools like Blender which I believe are also free but I haven’t tried it. Still worth checking out though since there’s a big community backing it :)
@meganchee-a-tow50163 жыл бұрын
@@SewPrinted thanks so much for your reply! i will definitely check those softwares out! still trying to figure out which printer to buy that’s reasonable in price but still good quality : )

how do you wash them though?

Good question!! I've actually washed them in the washing machine as I would regular clothes... just haven't been brave enough to use warm water though. Then I just hang them to dry. I may do a short to show this better.
