That's my original Bar! Love the fact you reviewed the old classic York barbell made in the USA. I got mine in 1981 or 1982 from place called Buckeye Barbell and I still have the bench I got with it. Both are still in use as we speak. The barbell is in great shape and has that beautiful steel patina look. It's still one of my favorite bars along with my OPB and my new TPB (29mm of course). The bench is in great shape as well and only has two small tears in the vinyl covering the bench along with a little rust. I bought the bench because it had wide uprights (47.5 inches outside the uprights) that you now see on all rackable benches. I'm thrilled to see you review the Classic York Barbell. Great review as usual. Love the channel. Keep the content coming. Look forward to the next video.

Back in the 1970’s, I followed powerlifters: Jon Cole, George Frenn, John Kuc, Hugh Cassidy, Don Reinhoudt, Doug Young, Larry Pacifico. If you’re not familiar, check out Jon Cole’s bio. Great powerlifter. And great Olympic weightlifter! And world class track and field athlete! Another great video! 👍👏💪

Cool. When I was a freshman in high school ('72) my Dad brought home a used "Dan Lurie Brooklyn, NY" standard 110 pound set. The bar and the db handles were solid 1" steel rods. The grips were chrome sleeves that the rod went through. Cast iron collars with screws to hold them on. I still use those plates and db handles all the time. (Not the barbell, though).

When I was 16 (1960) I got a 110-pound set from a company, RS Co. Ordered from a bodybuilding magazine from the time. It came with a 1" bar and two 1" dumbbell bars like yours. It came with chrome sleeves for the bar and dumbbells. I still have this set except the chrome sleeve for the long bar. The plates would not fit the bars. My dad had to take the plates to work and have them reamed out. I still use the plates every day on my plate loaded lat cable machine from Body-Solid. In 1979 I got a set of York Dumbbells still made in the USA. 10 pounds to 45 pounds. I still have them. They are worth some bucks now. Hey Branden, I've been working out in the basement since 1960. LOL I started out with a long peice of 2.5" water pipe with two concrete-filled Hills Bros. coffee can on each side.
