I've paid a 1 year course about game art for (including taxes) 8400 euro. My parents struggled to give me this formation in hope to find a job in the industry, which is in a very early stage in my country. They didn't teach me this. They didn't talk about using 3d on concept art.. hell, they barely made me do concept art. I spent a lot for nothing. And you know what? I'm exremely upset. Channels like yours are helping me a lot retrieving that knowledge i should've learn 2 years ago, because in the meantime other people are taking my place, my job, where i should be right now. I'm extremely grateful for your guide. I'll religiously follow other tutorials of yours like i'm doing on this one. Thank you.

I'm so sorry your education experience wasn't up to what you were hoping, game art courses can be very varied in quality and there's only so much you can cram into a short space of time. It does suck when you don't get what you wanted out of something when you put so much money down. It's obviously easy for me to say this but definitely don't give up. Sometimes things just don't work out, but the fact you're still trying to learn shows that you're determined enough to keep going. There are so many resources online like you mentioned, keep digesting all that's out there and you will find yourself where you think you should be. Also, I would limit your expectations about what you get out of education like you mentioned. Even though courses like that can be useful and give you a head start, the real work is the work you put into it after graduating. Keep going!

@@JordanGrimmer thank you for the motivating words, it may seems stupid but they means a lot to me, especially now. The said course has evolved and now new students makes spectacular thumbnails, paintovers, 3d blockouts ond overall works that looks straight out of a movie studio, and thats what made me rage for a solid minute. But anyway, at some point we have to reach our goals if we push, and thats where I'm headed. Have a good day Jordan.

Love that you're showing how you do 3d! Since you're a fan of block outs and layers you should use cryptomattes to create fast masks. Also did you render this in eevee or cycles, use denoising? Love your work as always!

Quick tip - you can very quickly make an ID pass in blender, that can speed up further post processing.

This is interesting to watch, never thought of using 3d blocks to setup backgrounds or rooms etc. I agree with the idea on workflow though! Im a beginner trying to get into concept art and the first thing I realized is... it didnt matter how good I made something if I was to damn slow haha. So I been searching for different ways on speeding up my process. ( Im really good/fast at lineart so I might incorporate that..) I don't know if this process would be quicker though then just painting it for me ofc but definetly for getting a feel of depth and light!
