I run my pinnacle and hot wired through a very old Hughes & Kettner red box. A 4x12 in other words and it is a very good and amp like sound.

Can a bass cab amp sim pedal go in the bass amp's effects loop send & return ?,what ways of using cab amp sim pedals are the best sounding...eg..Shift Line Cab Zone+ Bass ir/sim pedal with in-out & XLR DI output...can it be inseeted into bass amp's effects loop & if so is this worth trying ?...thank you...Chris

Please Demo the black65 with a cab sim....

Great demo. Actually I think that clean amp simulator stomp box will be better than cheap speaker sim pedal (which is just an eq in general). For example, nux amp force will be great for that, it's cheap and well build. Also torpedo cab will sound even better, but it's a lot more expensive.

The Hughes & Kettner Redbox 5 supposedly accepts Line-level signals in addition to amp level. Would this unit work?

The ADA cab sim in this video wasn't even tweaked in this demo. I am sure it could be dialed in better. I prefer an analog hardware vs a computer plug in. If you know what are doing, anyone can get a speaker sim to sound great. I use a parametric eq with all my gain pedals. It makes a world of difference.

As yours opinion , which one is better, direct vs mic ..?, For live performance.

Why not just use an amp in a pedal that has built in cab simulation, so no need for 2 separate pedals? For example, the Hughes & Kettner Ampman or something similar?
@cassandralesh8536 Жыл бұрын
The analog speaker simulator is just a low pass filter. You can make a speaker simulator with an eq

I use an ADA MIcrocab II. It works great. I do a little trick to get tube warmth into it. Why? Well I got good speaker sim tone with the ADA Microcab II after I got it set right. I use a tube preamp (Real tube II) stereo returns that receive my stereo output from my pedal board. From there it is hitting the ADA Microcab II. The inputs are Y'd non-speaker sim goes straight to my amps and the speaker sim goes straight to the PA. I can play with or with my amps on. The tone really depends on how you use the speaker sim. This video didn't really show what the little ADA speaker sim direct box does. You can get really good speaker sims. There are many speaker sims on the maket now. ADA makes them again, Bogner now makes them, JET CITY does. The Two-note ones are nice. I like the ADA Microcab II due to the stereo setup. The tube preamp really does a great job of getting that nice tube warmth that I hear from my amps. The speaker sim completely bypasses the amps sound. I balance the sound coming from the monitor to sound as close as possible to what I hear coming from my cabinet.

Maybe wampler will come out with their own cab sim....
@napalmhardcore9 жыл бұрын
+williamthomaspenn I'd love to hear their take on a cab sim. A couple of the comments here also make the very good point that running them into another pedal that has its own cab sim or that is designed to be played direct to a board/interface is a good way to go. I bet there are some really interesting tones waiting to be discovered when coupled with something like the Sansamp Character series or something similar.. cough cough Joyo cough.

What happen if you use some drive/dirstortion that already have cab simulator and premaps with cab simulator, does you must use one cab or keep two ?
@suckclark66524 жыл бұрын
Just straight to that pedal( in front of), no need cabsim again

Hey! Excellent video! I have a question: do amps in a box work like real amps regarding time effects? I mean, if I get this video's rig plus a reverb or delay pedal, should I put it between the amp in a box and the cab sim? Or does it work different for this kind of rig configuration?
@wampler_pedals7 жыл бұрын
I'd put delay/reverb before the cab sim

Did I miss something? Why is Wampler not putting out as much podcasts anymore? Not as much media stuff at all actually? Anyone know why?

+Wampler Pedals quick question. there are pedals that give you an amp sound when ran direct into an interface. a good example of this is the Fly Rig 5 from tech21. i guess my question would be, if you own one of these tech21 boxes, why not go direct into the interface through pedals and guitar respectively? God bless

has Travis left Wampler Pedals ? I met him this past spring in Virginia . As obnoxious as he could be on the podcast , in person he was actually pretty cool . He seemed genuinely surprised and humbled that I recognized him . I've heard he has left the company . If that is the case , I'm sorry to see him go .

myvintagesunburst Yep, Travis left recently to pursue new ventures :) We wish him the best, and yes he's a really great guy, very humble and super talented.

Best investment I've made in the past 10 years was a Two Notes Torpedo Live. It has literally changed how I record and what gear I take to a gig. It's outstanding.

My only critique of the demo was that you didn't say whether this was an analog or digital cab sim. I looked it up and found out for myself, but it' s kind of a big piece of info to leave out. :)

Good to know, sounds good for a backup, but if I was in a band that wouldn't let me have an amp onstage, my guitar wouldn't be on stage either. Fuck that!

Why do you have to go ahead befored doing anything ? Just say "This is the sound without the speaker sim - and this is the sound with the speaker sim " . Too much waffle and not enough playing !!
@jamesclark1319 жыл бұрын
If you want to do it rite, don't use cheep gear. Get your hands on the Tech21 Fly Rig5 and do the video over again and then say it sounds like crap. You won't be able to make that claim then.
