Using a Flanging Tool to Install a Drain Tube on a Boat Transom

will this tool work with a drain tube for a aluminum boat with very thin aluminum transom wall thickness..need to add drain tube..boat has drain tube in far corner..which doesn't make sence to me because water sits in the center of boat while on trailer...i have to try and lean boat to one side in order to drain water..i want a drain down the middle/center so it will drain properly..dont want to buy flanging tool and drain tube if its not going to work..thanks

The tube tore because you didn't anneal it!!!!

If you first heat it up with a torch and quench it it won't split.

Nice video. How did you remove the old scupper? My guess is you used a small hack saw and went very slow to watch for depth, then pinched and pulled it out

Joe Bergen I ground it down with a grinder to remove the lip, then punched it out with a punch (flat bladed screwdriver will also work) and hammer.

How tight do you tighten it

until it flattened out, i would think. You can always back off the nut and inspect so that you don't overtighten.

@@silentbravo do you need to coat it with 5200 or can it just go in by itself with no 5200
