I’ve never thought of putting my soda ash in with my dry dyes and skipping the soaking in soda ash step, so thank you so much for letting us know that this can be done and the results are great! You never stop learning, thanks!

You did a great job on this video! Informative and so helpful. You're lines are so thick and distinctive. I really love all three shirts. Sorry, but I really don't see your criticism, but you know what you were going for and what didn't work so good to you. Love the fact you mix colors before applying. LOVE you using spice jars to apply, genius! Thanks for posting!!! 🥰🥰🥰

I’m SO trying this soda ash hack today. I’m asthmatic and can tell it’s in the air just from soaked pieces drying out inside my house. Thank you!

I've watched some of your videos and noticed you seem to like how the back looks more than the front. Have you ever experimented with folding/rolling your shirts starting on the back? Might be cool to try! Btw I enjoyed your videos! I think you have the answer with your cold water vs hot water theory. Thanks!

What about fabric content? Is cotton best? What does polyester or a blend do? I know you like the 90% cotton, 10% spandex and they do well.

So i guess i missed the video for the orange one. Dies orange saturate more under the sinew. I love that effect. Your shirts are amazing.

Honestly I love it! But i do see what you mean about the blotchiness. This was really informative. Can I do this using synthetic twine? I don’t have waxed sinew and would rather not have to buy more items, but I attempted knots the other day with twine and the lines hardly showed. It was my first attempt at tie dye though

You can’t pull the tribe tight enough. Artificial sinew is waxed do it catches on itself for a tight connection. Use a piece of small plastic pipe or a wooden dowel or anything else you can wrap it around to help pull the sinew tight.

Love all the tees! Maybe just using red will bleed pink under the sinew? Dig your experiments, thanks for sharing!

So if I understand correctly if you want white lines you presoak if you want coloured lines you start with a dry shirt? I watched another video where I don’t think you presoaked but you got white lines so I’m a little confused

Yes. Dry fabric soaks up water much more efficiently than wet fabric. This effect is enhanced under the sinew to the point that the wet fabric under the tightly tied waxy sinew basically doesn't let any water/dye mix in, resulting in clean white lines.
