Toor Knives sent me this karambit style knife called the Karsumba and they don’t know I’m reviewing it! I think some of you might like this short little fixed blade as part of your EDC gear. This video has something for everyone; sliced meat, badass blades, cocaine abuse and a few crappy jokes! Use this link to get your Karsumba before they’re out of stock.

@@lobo-uh2tb - Consider the D.A. In a courtroom showing this knife to a jury for one moment? The expert knife fighter being called to demonstrate how deadly this hand weapon to be? Legal fees, months and months of fear/trepidation. TOO YOU! Beware which city you find yourself. Hundreds of VERY progressive Liberal Protective League law groups exist only to throw they’er despotic might against the common man-the righteous man! These groups have unlimited funding… They are highly successful gaining certain minority prisoners their freedom an/or lowered custody status. Including released early. California literally gets on its knees to sip the piss in these organization cups! Praised for the humanitarian work they do and believe! As its stated, such bastards to Mankind’s new World Order are “Good with Children!” I wished I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard this word in and out of Uniform. I’d be richer than Soros! Gregg? You go on talking about killing, I got equal stories about how acting in self defense turns to racial vigilanteism in a heart beat. A knife? Hell? I’m afraid to even carry my old Collapsable Baton as a retired guy! Or? My set of fighting Nunchucks I am well trained in. Both felonies! This second, I have a Russian Army Entrenching tool sharpened to razor edge. Right next to it is a fresh roll of shit paper! If shit gets Hinky, I either flee the area? Or I gab my shovel. Last recent threats I’ve fled. Gas pump related. Now they try forcing/Cohersing you into swiping your credit card into they’er pump. As horridly poor sit in front of gas pumps, unable to fuel their junk heaps. Yes, I live in a high crime area. However? Crime is spreading quickly to the well to do areas-Thats a whole other report. Note: In the event I try having conversation with on duty coppers, I cannot get many of my questions answered. They are maybe too young, feel intimidated, maybe even afraid to openly speak to me. The cards are stacked against any civilian packing any hand weapon considered a felony in states Penal code. Regarding open carry: Thats inviting a terrible confrontation where I live. FAR LEFT LOONES are everywhere! They will bait you into confrontation people! I’ve seen men wearing rear cross draw fighting knives at the small of their back while carrying their kid. NO THUMB RELEASE. I almost wanted to slip it out of its sheath-follow him out, then hand it back to him. He was in total family guy mode. 👹

I have a friend that took Silat for a long time, and he showed me several nasty techniques that they use with their CQC karambits. Slicing through the top of someone's hand above the wrist, will sever the tendons in that hand making it completely useless. They'll 100% drop whatever they were holding or grabbing, and making a fist just isn't going to happen! Inside the armpit, or the upper end of the bicep is another way to incapacitate someone trying to grab your shiz. If you were somehow knocked down, the tendons right above your ankle is another spot for incapacitating either leg.....or both. And if SHTF just take a nice deep cut into the upper right side of their thigh, taking that femoral artery, and them, out of the fight permanently.

Connor and the rest of the Toor gang, are a bunch of great Veteran peeps. I was lucky enough to discover them and followed them since the beginning. Was awhile until I could justify those prices for a knife. Their g10 textures are the best in the business if you ask me. I have all their folders but the Chasm. Have the Jank Shank and my Viper arrived today. My Darter also shipped today as well. I would like to get the Serpent and wouldn't mind this little Karambit as well. Also, that little Kabar TDI is a wonderful knife. It's what I carried when I was in the Air Force. It's actually what made me start carrying and getting into knives. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for it. When I finally said "Okay, this guy needs retired" I bought the Kabar Hinderer Hellfire. Little did I know at the time of buying those knives. My Hometown is 20 mins away from the Tactical Defense Institute and 2 hrs away from Hinderer. And I have a question hopefully you could answer. I heard using a knife in defense could also possibly bring charges to you. I don't know why a gun or knife would be different in a self defense outcome but, I would guess the more brutal nature of the wound. If someone is trying to injure me or my loved ones, like most I would hope, would do whatever it takes to defend them. Which would include having to cut or stab someone if all other options immediately disappear to stop the situation at hand. May be a dumb question but, I have always had a thought about this. A gun has moreover replaced the knife as the best option for self defense so, I believe that puts a stigma on using knives as self defense tools.
@OGsDangerShow
@OGsDangerShow 2 жыл бұрын
Knives are perfectly fine for self defense. The self defense laws in all states say you must be in fear for your life. They don’t say what you can use to defend yourself. Just be aware that knives are VERY up close weapons and the attacker is way too close by the time they’re useful. And they’re not as reliable for stopping fights either. A cut or a stab is rather easy to survive.

@@OGsDangerShow I did some knife fighting and mma classes when I was in the AF. I wrestled all my life, so, I tried to implement knives into that somehow. I just always figured if someone tries to rob you, and you slice their stomach or arm open trying to protect yourself, the Judge will throw the book at you. As stupid as that sounds, I could see it happening in today's world. Especially when you have criminals counter suing the victims and sometimes winning.

For my needs, I mostly carry a small sheffield folding box blade knife as my EDC knife in my front left pocket, along with pepper spray on my EDC bag, and .22LR single shot life card clipped to my pants for concealed carry, now when I'm camping, fishing, going someplace I might feel unsure of, etc.. Sweet knife OG. Though I try to be as frugal as possible, I completely agree with you regarding spending more for the tools that serve to protect your life and the lives of your loved ones, and stand between you and the grim reaper. I don't recall ever hearing about a police officer using their knife for defense/offense, against an attacker. Does this happen often and is just not reported/discussed externally? Or maybe it's just due to my lack of watching the news throughout the last decade or so... Regardless, I assume drawing your knife is a last resort, when your primary weapon is no longer available or combat effective and you don't have (or have time to access) your secondary firearm. On that note, do the youngest generation of officers typically carry a secondary firearm on their person? Also, does the police academy teach new recruits knife fighting skills, in addition to knife defense? Stay frosty out there folks and keep your head on a swivel. Lots of bad people and lots of bad things out and about.
@OGsDangerShow
@OGsDangerShow 2 жыл бұрын
A few answers here: first, the use of the defensive knife by a police officer is very rare. Our holsters are designed to prevent gun grabs these days and we are trained in retention techniques and hand to hand methods to prevent such a thing. Still, quite a few officers carry a knife there. Second, the new kids these days in most agencies carry a back up weapon while on duty. Officers in my agency aren’t known for carrying them and I would say only about 50% do so. Third, the Academy does not teach knife fighting techniques that I am aware of. I have gone to some schools for stick and knife fighting on a limited basis, but our Academy only teaches ground fighting and some hand to hand work.

Defensive use? Sure, if it came down to that. Just carry a knife ALWAYS. If the defensive need never arises, you’ll probably need it to cut seatbelts, or a hanging rope, or a tough steak biscuit. Bottom line, if you’re carrying a good, solid knife 24/7/365, there will definitely be a time you’re glad you had it. Same exact scenario with a firearm.

it's crazy you carried the Kabar TDI, I was just thinking how it reminded me of the last ditch kabar I used to always see on Amazon for ~$20 years ago back when you could still buy cool stuff from Amazon. I for one believe a karambit can be an especially devastating tool in the right hands, used to watch Doug Marcaida and other FMA practitioners demonstrations on them, I used to fiddle around with a cold steel fgx nightshade karambit to practice with, if you're unaware they're glass filled nylon versions of some of their best selling knives, pretty cool things, totally weatherproof, undetectable by standard metal detectors and most of them can actually take quite a bit of abuse before losing a tip or anything like that (which is repairable if you're so inclined) and best of all they're dirt cheap. if I had nothing else I'd reach for one before throwing hands, check them out! good video as always, stay safe in these trying times.

When using a blade you don't need to "wind up" or pull back to generate power, speed is all you need, just snap immediately forward from whatever ready position you have, train it even just as an eye jab you can use a 1" piece of tape stuck on a curtain practise accurately tapping it with an eye jab easily translates to blades.

There's an old saying about "Buy once, cry once". That being said, I'm also a big fan of Horrible Fright (Harbor Fright), 'cause I'm a cheapskate that can "squeeze a nickel 'til the buffalo shits". That is the exact cut of pork I like to slow-roast. If I can find it on sale (and that one looks to be just about the right size, too). Up until Sleepy Joe declared war on the law abiding citizens of the U.S., the American Dream and the American way of life, a sale meant you could pick that roast up for 67 cents per pound. Yes, there's a pretty big bone in it, and a large knot of veins, etc. but there's still a whole heap of meat on it. Now here's what you do with it: First, turn the oven on to 225 degrees to pre-heat, then in a large iron frying pan, put about 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and set that to heating. While those are coming up to temperature, put salt, pepper and garlic on the meat, rub it in and turn it to salt, pepper and garlic the next side, rub and turn, etc. until the entire outside of the roast has been done. Leave the skin on, but slice it into one inch squares. Make sure you cut all the way down through the skin to the meat. Now put your roast into the frying pan SKIN SIDE DOWN and sear it. Once the skin side is seared, keep turning and do the rest, getting a good sear all over the meat. You should end with the SKIN SIDE UP. Now pour a can of chicken broth over the meat, cover it with an aluminum foil tent (I found an aluminum lid with a really high dome that fits my pan like it was made for it) and put the whole thing in the oven. A roast that size, can take anywhere from 6 to 8 hours, depending on the size of the roast. I've done some for 12 hours. Check on it about every hour, though, because between the chicken broth and the moisture the roast sweats out in terms of fat and water, you run the risk of overflowing your frying pan. If it start to get close, use a turkey baster to transfer about half of it into a bowl and set off to the side. Once the rest of it starts to cook off and evaporate, add this back in to the pan. After a couple of hours the meat will be cooked through, but it will still be tough. That's when I like to cut it into chunks about the size of a baseball. Now it's a waiting game. Keep checking on it about once per hour. At some point, when the time is right, the meat will become very tender and easy to shred into strands of meat, but it's not quite done yet. I keep it cooking until I can not only shred it, but take a big forkful, put another fork in so that the forks are back to back, but right next to each other, and slide them apart sideways, shearing the meat strands. (This is where I generally remove the bone and any parts I don't want, like the veins and tissue surrounding them) At this time, there should still be quite a bit of liquid in the pan. Some folks will pour this off, but my Dear Ol' Dad taught me that, rather than pouring off the excess liquid or using a thickening agent, cook it down slowly so that all that good flavor coats and infuses the meat. It takes longer, but it's well worth the wait. For this, I usually increase the temperature to about 300 and remove the lid, checking on the meat and stirring it every 15 to 30 minutes. What you should be left with is enough shredded roasted pork to completely fill a large iron frying pan almost to overflowing (depending on the size of the roast, that is). It goes great in burritos, makes awesome pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, it's even good just by itself with maybe a little honey mustard on the side, and sometimes the Ol' Blister will use some to make an enchilada casserole that is out of this world. Not every time, but often when I do a roast, I will cut up some carrots, quarter a few potatoes and an onion or two, but not put them in with the meat until I've cut the roast into baseball sized chunks and removed some of the juice.

@OGsDangerShow

If you think about how a knife is mounted on your belt, it pretty much has to be grabbed out in an ice pick style grip. Very difficult under stress to get your hand in the right position to grab it in a traditional grip.

What would make the knife a little better is if the back side of the blade was also sharpened. At least some of it. Mainly so that after the slash you can come right back with a jab that pokes a little better. Would not be perfect with a curved blade, but opens more options.

If you want some entertainment, check out the reviews on Amazon for a karambit that has Smith & Wesson’s logo on it. I believe it has a 7.6” blade that’s sharpened on both sides. Instead of having only a partial section sharpened, the entire length of the blade is. It’s rather amusing reading the comments of how many of them ended up cutting themselves at least once, with a few even happening the first time they removed it or holstered it. Lol
