I recently bought an old mixing console, holy cow, what a game changer! 🤩 16 preamps and EQs of excellent quality for 100 bucks! It sounds amazing and I am tracking all my synths through it. A bit of noise but totally worth it, and this was the missing link for me, to get that authentic retro sound. Great video, Espen! Inspiring as always :)

Surprises me, that more people don't use distribution amps to run multiple fx/eq/compressor lines back into a mixer or seeing we now have so many tracks available compared to the time of your old mixer, direct to additional tracks.

I run through a Yamaha 01V96. Version two effects. And they have all the good Yamaha stuff loaded on board, and it really sounds good. Some of the soft keys that I have have that type of reverb already embedded in the sound, There are subtle differences. But as usual, thanks for the demonstration.

The main reason I still keep an SPX90 in my rack is for that symphonic chorus preset. Lovely and lush chorus.

Hi! Do you know if there is any other way to get hands on the same classic effects than buying the DMP7? Does the Yamaha SPX90 have the same effects to offer or should I look for an other effect rack from Yamaha? Thank you for a GREAT channel!

The SPX90 has pretty much the same thing in terms of effects. However, running through the DMP7, or at least MY DMP7 adds even more color to the sound. The gain staging and converters etc, it all adds up to the mojo. Cheers!
