So again there is misinformation here… when you contact Sequential about this issue, they actually WANT owners to perform the repair themselves. They will send you the factory power supply and/or the motherboard, if needed. You swap the parts and ship back the defective ones. I’m not sure why it is so hard for people to grasp this? Sequential has not remotely abandoned support for the unit.

Is it possible that you stop doing this grumpy role about the current status of music/synth industry and just talk about things you really enjoy ? What about tutorials about sound design, FM synthesis, something more positive than this. I'm not sure your subscribers are happy to listen to this days after days after days. Don't you think so ? We both know there is nothing better than the 80s, so let's pretend we are in 80s and just do stuff around that.

@EspenKraft8 сағат бұрын
Are you better off with a car or a boat? How can I know? As synths they're identical, but one is a car (synth with keys) and the other is a boat (synth without keys).

Not only do you holdup marvelously on your own, Espen, but I could envisage you acting as producer and accompanist for any recording artist who wanted to present themselves in the same 80s template. If he were interested,one such singer is Josh Groban. Or, if John Legend, Christina Aguilera or Lady Gaga sought to reinvent themselves in an 80s context, they would be advised to seek out your auspices.

Sequential has not, in fact, abandoned support for these units. My Prophet XL (low serial number… 0277) suffered a similar boot issue this week. I contacted Sequential and they had a replacement motherboard and power supply in UPS to me within 24 hours. You pay a $200 deposit, and this is mostly refunded to you when you return the faulty board and PSU. @espenkraft

Just out of curiosity: Are there any modern synths produced, that are fully hardware, and don't have to boot up a raspberry pie running a synth engine as it were? I mean other than that little Hydra synth. I'm asking, because I distinctly remember someone talking about a fully analog re-production model of a famous synth from the early 80s, but I can't remember which one.

When did you become so sour Espen? You channel was all about making music and the vintage gear from the 80's that you loved so much. People liked that, it was a good vibe, that made you have a lot of followers. But the good vibe is gone. Most of your videos are now self masturbation on your negative opinions on matters that have nothing to do with the original content, wanting to be the smartest of the class with disputable opinions, nowhere going tirades against companies and groups of people with a different opinion. I think the spectrum is taking you over too hard, or you are just getting old and crumpy. I am unfollowing.
@EspenKraftКүн бұрын
So I can't have any opinions now? My job is to amuse you and make you feel good? Most of my videos are about making music, but you're hung up on a video where you don't agree? That's totally fine with me. Take your masturbation elsewhere.
@TitodublotКүн бұрын
@ You know I have a point; you choose to stand on an online stage. When your content changes drastically and changes tone of voice then it will result in change of numbers and types of audience. It’s a two way situation always on Social Media. You can never just send alone on a public platform with a public account. But come on, you know how it works. Succes.
@EspenKraftКүн бұрын
People come and go, in life as well as online. No biggie. I don't force anyone to like what I do. The only thing that matters is that I get to do what I like to do. The rest is conversation.

I can visualise the video for this song. Slow motion, black and white video collage of that dog and cat fighting. The last five seconds are of them in real time colour, snuggling with the cat grooming the dog.

Good idea about the high pass filters i never tried this technique before but often struggle to get the right frequency bands on different tracks to not "fight" each other. I'll try that out
@EspenKraftКүн бұрын
Almost all synth tracks need high pass filtering. No synth must be allowed into the sub-100hz range. Follow that advise and your mixes will have much more definition.

You should do some new jack swing I think that would be cool, a late 80s new jack swing kinda thing?

I don't really see the problem, like most other consumer goods it's market driven. Manufacturers sell at the optimum price to maximise their profit, and will have done their research as to what people are prepared to pay. They don't have to, the DAW/VST option is always there and some excellent keyboard controllers are available for a reasonable price. If demand and sales of a hardware synth drops, so does the price. That happens all the time when a new model is announced.

People are trying to figure out how to rackmount their desktop stuff, like desktop angled stands, the Ultimate Support MDS-100, jaspers stands and adapters. Pedals on a pedalboard on a desk. Outboard effects as desktop units, little boxes spread out on a desk.
