Hey Tianey! I love your channel. For the beanie, you really need to do the double knit method. You would def want to cast off with the long needle that comes with the machine. then the bottom of the tube, you would just pull the end and cinch it up. Then you pull them together and get your hat. The waste yarn is really for ear warmers or any panels that you want to close at the ends and make a flat rectangle instead of a round tube project. :)/

Hi Hi! I myself am also a longtime crocheter, and some of the things you were confused about in the beginning of the video are also things that I came across when I started knitting! I've never used a sentro before, but I believe most of it is quite similar to knitting by hand. There are certain stitches in knitting that unfortunately will just always curl, whether you're working in flat rows or in the round. The stockinette stitch is the most commonly used stitch, and that is notorious for curling like crazy. Most people start the project with one or two rows of a rib stitch, and that does a pretty decent job at keeping the rest of the project flat (you can even try doing that with crochet when the project is finished!). Knitting also much much thinner than crochet (and also way stretchier!), just because of how the stitches are made. That might be why it's better to make double the amount of rows, and fold it over at the end. Hopefully this helped, and I'll be excited to see what projects you make with the sentro this year!! lots of love

I mean this in the nicest way possible.. as a knitter i am cackling XD, to answer why those beanies are always doubled: Stockinette stitch (the fabric type the machine is producing) will always roll, so to get a nice beanie with it the brim needs to be folded. and its prob a lot easier to just fold the whole thing in two, then to knit x amount of rows, fold them in, seam it and then knit x more rows. ITS POSSIBLE, but ive only seen it done by hand or on flatbed machines. All of the love truly

If you want a single layer beanie I recommend learning how to do a stretchy bind off with the crochet hook. Then do a few row of ribbed single crochet or whatever stitch you prefer so it doesn't roll.

I have a knitting machine and I’ve found that the suction is very useful but not on wood. A glass table or a counter works well for the suctions. I also don’t do scrap yarn because either way i’m gonna seam the edges.

I flip my knitting machine project to the wrong side, sew up/crochet the ends first, and then remove the scrap yarn.

My first time using the machine was good I even make good beanie and earwarmers after that some of the other yarns didn't want to work with it some did some dont then now my machine doesn't work anymore it keep dropping stitches I don't even use it anymore you should try looming too lol its fun too

This is fun to play, but its also fake knitting. I'm working my as$ off to knit something and then while scrolling on the internet I see a woman using ,,builders items" and making beanies like its nothing with machines. So please do not form your opinion about knitting how its fast and easy when you havent tried it with needles, because TRUST ME it will be a diffrent feelling to knit for real.
