Same tool can be used to diagnose an unwanted vibration. Same technique. Get the number and find out what us spinning at a multiple of that number. If it is vibrating at 1250, find out what is spinning at 1250, 2500, 3750, 5000, or ect. It is a nice way to tell if it is a tire, drive shaft, or something else that is out of balance.

I don’t know anything about Oman engines but has yours always made that high pitched whine? It sounds like a bearing out of tolerance, a worn bearing race, etc.

Yup, that engine has seen better days. I’d feel bad running that engine long enough to check the rpm’s. It needs a tear down (unless it’s the hydrostatic pump howling)
