Using a Witter Detachable Swan Neck

We've made a quick video to show you how to use your Witter detachable swan neck towbar.
You can watch this video if you are struggling to charge the locking mechanism in order to fire into the housing which is permanently fixed to the towbar fitted on your vehicle. We also show you other features of the neck including locking with a key and detaching from the housing unit. By watching this video you can get a better understanding of the charged state of a Witter detachable swan neck towbar.

This is just a bad design. I got this with my car and I am very unhappy with this. There are much better designs you can choose from. This gets dirty inside, doesn't come on/off so easily and it's heavy. Girls have problems fitting this in. I had different tow bar before and was much much easier.

Thanks for this very clear video, unlike the Witter instruction book that explains nothing and has diagrams that don't show anything. But as has been said, the whole design is ridiculously complicated.

What if when the swan neck fires and attaches to the car but the blue knob only turns back 90 degrees? No green sticker showing and unable to lock the towbar

An excellent smart design , just bought a near new Motorhome with one these towbars fitted ....really top notch mate .......only thing there was NO key probably lost .....where can I get a key for this beauty..... Cheers from Kiwiland

I'm assuming the keyhole becomes full of dirt and water over a period of time?

There is a metal flap that covers the keyhole when the key is removed to protect it from small amounts of dirt and water. However, this is a detachable neck, so we'd recommend removing the neck when you're not towing anything so the keyhole doesn't get over exposed to dirt and water for extended periods of time.

If this towball was in the uncharged postion would it give the impression that the towball would go in at an angle

Just bought one from you guys and no matter how hard I try, it only rotates 90 degrees. The little pin appears to be loose so it can slide in and out by gravity. Is that right?
