While building out homestead we have realized that a wood chipper is an invaluable tool to help us clear our land for paddocks, gardens, and animal housing. You should chip it onto a tarp. Then you can use the four-wheeler to just drag it to wherever you need it. It would make it a lot easier to move. That's what my uncle used to do with his

We bought a wood chipper for our tractor, we have cleaned up our forest floor. No more tripping over branches that have fallen. Our neighbours can't believe how much better the property looks. Love the chips for our paths and filling in of all the holes in the property. Have fun stay safe love the work you guys are doing

Maybe Philip is wearing ear protection, but if he isn't it is seriously somrthing to consider cuz it looks like he'll be doing a whole lot of wood chiping and saw work. Speaking from knowledge of many years of forestry, be very thoughtful of which trees and how many you take out as that can cause you to lose many of those left standing due to storms and snow and no longer having the protection they have now.

I would love a wood chipper! We get some crazy wind storms so we get downed branches every year, and my parents have about 9.5 acres of forest. The soil is very sandy, so lots of trees have fallen down and need to be dealt with

I am sure you may know but over time mulch /woodchip piles can heat up. I was working with a school and they had a pile of chips dropped and we had so much rain that the center of the pile was very hot. just a note

I've learn to place plain cardboard over the area where I want a garden. (Of course, it has to be weighted down, to keep the wind from blowing it away.) The cardboard prevents unwanted plants from growing in your future garden. And any under it will die from lack of sunlight.

Wood chipper !!!🎉🎉. I have a suggestion… that’s a lot of chips to move around; so what if you collected the chips into a large yard garbage bag ? Easy to transport/ store . Just a thought and a lot easier than shoveling it into and out of the wheelbarrow ?!?

Oh my goodness, when you said wood chipper, I thought of a big wood chipper that gets hooked up behind a tractor. That dinky chipper will take you forever to chip your trees with. I know as i have used both. if you rented a tractor and large chipper, you could have it all done in a week. Food for thought. (You can ram so much in a big one not just one branch at a time)

Whoo hoo! A wood chipper!! The look on Phillips’s face says it all! I would strongly suggest to cover the piles with tarps tack down firmly. You don’t want all that getting wet or blown around, after all that hard work, especially for how you’re going to use it.

Wow. Did you check to ensure it will be safe to remove all the trees in your plan with all that wind???! Even though you have experienced scary winds against your home, your woods have sheltered your home from the wind. Without them, you may experience even more direct wind and damage to your home. Please find the right expert to look at what you want to do and give you advice about changing the landscape of your property. Such a beautiful property that you and Phillip have worked so hard on. Tell Phillip that she should not have a jacket with strings hanging down. One of those cords from his coat could get wrapped around the limb and his coat would be pulled into the chopper. Everything looks great 😊 . A word of advice don’t use the wood chips for 6 months in a building or on plants. The heat it produces can a start a fire. We lost a barn 2 years ago this summer. 😢We also use natural wood chips for our garden so we don’t have to water or pull weeds.

Also if you later get in a routine of chipping in the fall(after your initial things are done) they are ready to be used in the spring.
