ok this is super helpful except you skipped a step - how did you get all those unique ID interactions to show up on the other tab?
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
Are you referencing when I wrote the name formula for interactions (around 8:30 in the video)? Or do you mean how they showed up in the Contacts table? If that's the question, they do it automatically when linked to a contact. The relationship is reciprocal meaning that linking an interaction to a contact infers that the contact is linked to the interaction. 💪

Is there a way to make new submission forms into a specific column in airtable? Each new submission makes its own column currently and it's not very efficient.

I tend to create grids for each step, rather than having one step at page. This way I can auto send emails when I click complete. But I miss out on the client tracking that you demonstrate here. Is there a work around? Am I making sense?

Thanks Gareth. How would you go about tracking multiple next steps if you have interactions for more than one contact?
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
Depends on your specific process - I'd recommend mapping that out first. From there, you can build the business logic to support your process, whether in Airtable or in a combination of software (like using Zapier to help automate tasks based on specific conditions).

Can you connect to a calendar on air table to make appointment?I thought we could get each groomer to download air table app and just get them to use the calendar.
@JesseTheGameDev5 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, this is possible, but you'll have to use a 3rd party program to make it happen. I use Zapier to connect my Airtable databases to my Google Calendar, but there are probably other options.

Thank you for the video. Love the rollups and lookups... q- best practice to embed sales pipeline within the CRM or better to have a separate base for this? Additionally, regarding tables - is it a best practice to create a separate company and contact tables, or should these generally be within the same table? (in other words, how do I know when it makes sense to create another table - I'm getting into a situation where I have many tables, within which there are many linked field columns, so that the tables are almost acting as different views... do you get what I mean?
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
Hard to say regarding your Q about sales pipeline. It really depends on your business. Generally, I recommend that everyone keeps as much data in one database as possible, but sometimes you'll want to create separate bases if you want to keep data private from your entire team. Regarding Contacts and Company tables, if you do B2B sales, it's really common to see these two tables broken out separately and then linked together. If you only work with one person at each company, then it makes sense to keep it in just one table, but if you have a lot of contacts at each company, then separate tables is a good idea. It's really on a case by case basis.

Hi! Yes, you can include whatever data you'd like, as long as you don't go over the record limitation of your Airtable plan!

Hey Gareth, I have been working on building a CRM in Notion, then I stumbled upon Airtable. I like a lot of things in Airtable, but can’t understand why I can’t set viewing permissions? I have multiple sales reps, and I do not want them to be able to view everyone else’s projects. I know I can block editing or deleting permissions, but viewing is really crucial for a CRM with multiple reps. Any suggestions or workarounds?
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jacob, yes indeed! For this you'll want a front-end solution. Airtable works well as a backend, but for portals/user-interfaces it needs some help from an additional tool. For this I recommend Softr.io!

You mentioned that it is possible to set up automated processes using Zapier and Airtable to bring in data automatically from email, texts and phone calls. What about WhatsApp and Signal? I've been exploring this without much luck...
@GarethPronovost3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately those tools don't offer an easy integration with automation tools like Zapier.

Can we automate the selection of the contact in minute 5:50? I want my sales focus on the form view in the interaction table. If the name my sales input do match the name in contact, then it is automatically filled...

Absolutely - there are ways you can prefill a form with a specific contact - check out the new updates from April 2020 kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4CnpXiar9KVgbc

getting an error when trying to use the 'rollup' function when creating the max interaction date on the contacts tab. the error says: you need a link field to create a rollup. create the link field before configuring this rollup field. Not sure how to do that. Can you help?
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, sounds like you still need to build a link. The roll-up field uses a link and then aggregates the linked data, so that link has to come first!
