Using an analog, NANO VNA and antenna tuner SWR meter to check SWR

I ran a test to see what type of meter would give the most accurate SWR readings on my Uniden 980SSB radio running on a Solarcon A-99 antenna with almost 100 feet of coax. For the test, I used a vintage Micronta 3 Range Power / SWR Tester, a NANO VNA, and the built in SWR meter of the ATU-100 antenna tuner.

I would use the analog meter. Easy - accurate and will withstand much more power. But I would want a peak reading meter rather than the average reading meter you have, especially for SSB. My opinion.

Just curious, are your jumpers cut to "Null" or resonate to the frequency of 27mhz??? I would skip the 3'f jumper theory and start with a 6'5" jumper and get it as close to a quarter wavelength ~ to the center of the 27mhz band by clipping off a half inch at a time untill you reach a NULL. I have found that the 3'f jumper rule is nonsense. Iam not familiar with that NaNo device your using but if it works like a Rig expert, you can easily tune your jumpers to frequency in a snap. To tune a jumper, just put a pl259 on one end of a 6.5' piece of coax leave the other end open and clip a half inch at a time until you reach your null, then put on the connector, then you will have a tuned jumper which should be around a quarter wave to the center frequency of the 27mhz band. Always keep in mind, analog meters will always have a different reading than a digital meter inherently. Use this method 486÷ your frequency in mhz will tell you in a round about figure the length your coax jumper should be, and it certainly isn't 3'ft.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate when someone experienced shares their knowledge instead of trying to put someone down. I'm going to follow your suggestions and create a tuned jumper for the 11-meter band and retry the tests. 73s from 595 Lake Tahoe Nevada!
