Thanks for this video, do you happen to know any software that we can download on mac to use android tablets like the s8 as a secondary screen monitor? I love my android phone & tablet as much as I love my macbook but hate that I can't use my tab s8 as 2nd display like with windows pcs at work.

Am in the same boat with an S8 Ultra. Duet Display I think is the only solution. Works well, though it does require a subscription. Can be used for drawing - does pressure sensitivity etc.

Great video but rather than using Camo whose free tier restricts output to 720p, I would recommend iriun or obs-ninja.

my 2015 Macs running monterrey. Apple even sent out extra security features for even old OS's. Now Im running Sonoma via opencore legacy but Apple still is reaching out to super old devices still

I do that. There is / was Samsung's "Dex" - which allowed for a complete display of the phone or tablet screen on the Mac. I think they depreciated it, though, and it was Samsung specific. I'd like to know more about the screen sharing, though, you mentioned right near the end but didn't go into. Does CamoL do that? I installed it because of your suggestion, but haven't explored that option if it is even there.... thanks!!

Either snapdrop or macdroid. Then for photos. I use google photos since my android photos are automatically backed up there.

Thanks for sharing! My samsung and mac can't find each other if I use my flat's wifi, but when I use my phone's hotspot to get the mac to connect, they can see each other. Any ideas on how to fix this?

My android is REVVL 6 pro I have everything downloaded on my mac mini 13 Ventura and my android I have it on my application folder. I open it up it doesn't show up in the upper right corner. So now I'm unable to configure that in the kde connect folder. I tried to do the search and it just brings me to the applications.I'm sure its somewhere on my computer

good video, however I couldnot use kdeconnect 23-04.3-1375 even installed in launchpad on mba m2. Maybe kde dmg file isnot convenient for arm based mac. I wonder what type you mbp intel based? by the way I have been still using samsung dex for my note 10+ without any glitches on my mba m2.

I just discovered something I'm not sure what to think about. I think the built-in Mic on my new S24 ULTRA is almost as good as my 32-bit wireless DJI Mic 2. I has a very different sound a minimum, it's very clear. I tried the phone mic because I was curious, not knowing what I'd find. First I tried BT, it did not work, my phone connected to the Mac, but it was a complete dead end, I couldn''t see that it enabled ANYTHING. Thus, I found your Video and tried Camo Connect... VOILA! My Mac now has a Camo Mic on my S24U.

thanks for the video. I'm trying Camo Studio, but it does NOT make your Phone a webcam to any App, only to Camo Studio! Thus Adds no value for me. As for KDE connect, I don't see where it does anything that I can't already do with Samsung Dex. I wish there was an App better than Dex, which Samsung seems to have kicked to the curb (stopped updating).

Hi, I don't know how you feel about windows, but that's not important either. I'm interested if there would be a significant difference in performance and usability if windows 10/11 is installed on the macbook pro mid 2012 and what would make more sense with such an old laptop. Yes, of course there is Linux, but that's not the question. could you possibly test it in a video? Thanks for the really informative videos! Best regards

You can't download windows 11 on a 2012 MacBook Pro because its too old, and the it lacks the proper security chip. Your only option would be windows 10. And that would be of limited usability since Microsoft will end support for windows 10 in 2025. So you'd only be able to use the computer for another 2 years if you put windows 10 on it.

Monterey is running great on my 2012 MacBook Pro. Apple is so hostile to Linux I haven't even tried it on my Macs. No reason to anyway thanks to OCLP.

@@ninline2000 I forgot about open core. Also I wasn't tracking that apple computers are hostile to linux. As dual booting Pop OS on iMacs works pretty good. Is linux harder to install on Macbooks?
