Yes, defihitely, it indeed tracks the objects even in higher powers. Thanks for your inquiry

Even with a compass heading the autostar will put you reasonably close, but is mandatory to have the correct time, and date please. Also have things level, the supplied compass eyepiece will take of things for you there. If your familiar with the sky indeed point north to Polaris the north star, as will put you withing 1/2 degree, works fine in low power views. Have observed most of the brighter deep sky with ease and planetary outstanding for this aperture. Gives nice images for 90mm.

Thank you for the review. Small correction it's AudioStar not 'auto' although it does find object automatically without manual intervention.

Is pricy but exceptional optical system and fun locater makes for a fun outings. Purchased mine around 450 did note some on sale with lighter tripod for 299 great buy for this design of scope. Now will have to check Orion on their models are still available as Celestron get great reviews. Its abit small for planetary detail but will introduce you to the brighter fuzzy objects I love checking out the fainter tho large Owl Nebula, better sky conditions flashes in and out of view, in this scope.

If your alignment setup is slightly off go to a bright star on area your looking, if star isn't centered arrow button it in and press Enter, all objects will be correct in that area your viewing, great on dimmer objects.

I do the same thing in my living room with an etx 60at. What makes it interesting is using SKY MAP app to confirm your doing it right. It's not perfect but if you run the app while you're aligning your telescope it gets real easy..

If your mount is level you set the scope to zero. There's a small triangle pointer on one side. If you look at the round scales on the side. One has numbers.

Carlos Orue-good pickup! When did Autostar II get renamed to "Audiostar"? And why?
@mikeries85494 жыл бұрын
Audiostar has audio and talks to you about what you're looking at.

Hi thanks for sharing.. do I need to do this everytime when moving the telescope?

Meade 1.25 bubble and level telescope eyepiece are often listed on ebay tho just eyeball level will work fine Polaris North Star alignment is fine, note it does go around 1/2 degree in accuracy, but certainly will give reasonable results. Use low power for an extended view in finding objects.

Thanks for sharing, very informative for a noobie like myself. Do you recall where you got the bubble level compass you have on the eyepiece?

Most of them do, but believe its now discontinued. Other makes as Celestron continue with guidance

They have Stella wireless control now and that is very easy to use All it is just an app that comes with an additional adapter for your telescope.

As finders are used for bright stars these are small, later ones have an LED Dot, all very basic.

My manual says to point the tele at Polaris (The North star) This is not the same as "Compas north" Is it? Not a big deal. my ETX90 is not computerized. And I do know where most of the starts are located. I would like to setup so my motor drive works the best it can.. Thanks for any help.

Note looks like these may be discontinued, sad as been around awhile and a proven design reasonably priced telescope. Celestron has the nexstar series in same price range and believe a 4 inch muskatov for a fun small scope should give proven sharp image clarity as well.

You can tell when people are rookies or have no idea where they are when they have to use a compass. If you have a bit of experience, stars and the season itself will tell you which is east, west, south and north.

My bad not checking responses here. Can reach me under user name phillip on the excellent astronomy forums Cloudy Nights. Terrific info There! Yes is Audiostar as does include narration. Actually this scope is a much more reasonably priced of the jewel Questar, King of the pack but costly. We do have 3 1/2 inch opening so more of a detection than resolving deep sky fainter objects. Does shine on planet view, easily over 130X rather well, enough to catch Jupiter's Io shadow and it's famed GRS Great Red Spot! Largest markings of Mars, but warn you its abit small needs good sky Conditions! Saturn always a beauty, ring division there when planet is open for the better look. Used this puppie near exclusive for several years, it's locater, yes noisy but works rather well. Believe original manufacture stopped production, but is version still out there. Optics on these very decent, sharp. Not a bad choice. Later most move to larger size telescopes, my favored orion 8 inch reflector dobsonian mount. Gets raved reviews, one of the best value buys with enough aperture to see alot more. Clear Skys!
