Using big Swim & Glide Bait lures for BIG FISH

In this episode I use large Swimbaits and Glidebaits to target big Flathead in the shallows. The Live Target Mullet and Bone Focus 130 lures were the weapons of choice. I also try to film a flathead eating a plastic with the underwater drone. I miss the take but still got some cool footage of it hooked up. Enjoy

Your not alone mate, I don’t post any videos if capture any landmarks, I learned my lesson, I got stuck into some really good Murray cod then the next couple of days a few boys were going there hammering them. I got a river 120cm Queensland Murray cod off the surface (my pb) and a 102cm the same avo, it is the best footage and eats I’ve ever had and I will never post it for that reason.

Can’t help but think one would go well sitting on the bottom of the reef with ball sinker/ leader set up.

I have no doubt the live target lures would work well with that technique. I just did a video recently where I used a down rigger with these lures and towed them around the reefs in 50 to 100 plus mtrs of water. It worked well and I caught a range of species.

Definitely going to give it a go when I’m bashing the bottom with some bait, floater out the back and have the swim bait working itself with the current and bounce of the swell at anchor. Good on you for hiding the location. Look what ppl are now doing to the big bluebone of Moreton Bay. Not many used to target them and now its common knowledge of location baits etc thanks to youtube.
