I like it when people try to do their own repairs and realize after a youtube video it ain't as easy as it looks, takes years to learn these skills, guy brought a classic car to me said would I finish it for him just wants a polish, was lots of dings left in and runs basically I had to undo all his work and put it right, but all said and done these vids are great the guy knows his stuff, respect to him don't know the guy but it seems everything he does is exactly the same way I go about things and I was self-taught but been doing it 30 years or so, he even as the same tools and guns lol.

Good job. You Forgot to apply dust coat of etch primer on bare metal.

I dont use etch mate and never had any adhesion problems

Not sure what CV-R uses but with apoxy primer/sealers nowadays etch primers aren't needed. I don't use them and also never had adhesion problems.

after applying the clear coat and removing the masking, if there are any areas still sanded with grey scotbrite. With polish the shine is recovered? or polish does not remove the stripes from the grey scotbrite? Thanks

Usually a tiny amount if any at all. My usual gun is a 1.3 tip gti pro lite

Quick question as I spray parts of my car in the Garage its a double garage plus also paint wooden doors to update the villa make it look better its the overspray of course all the dust. I open the back door for ventilation of course but its the overspray which causes concern have you any tips for me that would help or I could do if possible.

dust can be controlled by wetting the floor. perhaps invest in some kind of extraction fan?

This particular lacquer takes about 15 mins at 60 degrees then a cool down ready to sand

I use 1k and 2k primers. The 1k is good but not much build. It can however be dried with heat gun where as the 2k needs 30 mins under infra red but much better build and coverage

Yes. I use 1k primer from a gun, a hight build aerosol and 2k primer depending on what the damage is

I was always into cars anyway.. been a valeter/detailer for many years (10+). I trained to paint watching the (then very limited videos online) and shadowed a guy in another town. Practice and scrap panels etc

Compressor 3hp 90 litre belt driven. Base either 1.2 iwata lph 80 or 1.0 devilbiss sri pro. Lacquer usually a gti pro lite 1.3
