In any case , it’s a great learning tool , will watch again and again until I knew the theory at least while attempting on my wife’s expensive Audi and save a couple of thousand dollars that was asked to fix it ! I was wondering when is best to use a adhesion promoter on the repairs ? Before filler ? After filler ? And what part of the repair ? Entire area or just the repaired sanded and filled area ?

What about the clear coat blend line? I did my repair in a similar manner and there was transition of the clear coat visible, and it couldn’t be buffed out. Even more, the more I tried polishing the line was more and more visible…
@deanoh64143 ай бұрын
That's what the fade out / blend thinners was applied for. It melts the hard transition line.

How long were the drying times for primer, 1st and 2nd base coats (and did you allow the base coats to dry naturally?). How about after the coats of lacquer too? It’s a shame you didn’t show the wet sanding and polishing stages too. Great video 👍
@cvrpov4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. I wanted to keep this video quite short. I will be focusing on all these things in other vids. This 1k primer dries under heat gun in around a minute. 1st layer of base dries in a few seconds when blowing with air but leave 3-5 mins between the other coats. This lacquer dries in 10mins under infra red and there's a couple of mins between coats

1.3 mate. Probably a bit too good for a primer gun but it works and it gets some hammer and keeps going. I often wind the fan right in and have it in pistol form which works well too.
