Yes please improve the Transit in Central Florida. There are a lot of residence who work a lot of 3rd/Grave shift who depend on transit, but can't get to their late night shift due to the bus and Sunrail not running. LYNX and Sunrail should run 24/7 including holidays.

My home "city" is 32,000 and their city bus system is EXTREMELY efficient. It takes you through the town with four routes PLUS busses that go to and around the adjacent towns so the region can all come into and out of the "city". I'm stunned at how chaotic and inefficient Osceola County public transit is.

In Ocala, FL our public transportation is ridiculously inefficient. To job search for many people they can get to maybe 2 places a day. I see a city growing but there is no real growth in transportation. I watched many take 4 hours to get to work and 4 hours to get home. It’s very sad.

There was a recent story about a math teacher in Los Angeles having to travel about 2 hours to get to work by bus and another 2 hours back, not having much time to spend with his family. His students knew about his situation and raised enough money to buy him a new car to his surprise, as well as gas and insurance for a year. And this is LA we're talking about, the second biggest city in America.

I visited Orlando many times. I have to say that the public transportation down there stinks. My hotel was on highway 192. I took the Bus 55 to the last stop then from take the second bus going to down Orlando. I left the hotel at 9:00AM and arrived at 12:00PM. It took three hours . The first problem I see in central florida is everything is spread out. If you were to develop a rail system in Orlando you would have to spend billions of dollars and would have to cover a large area, It shows also why people in Central Florida have cars. For the people who depend on public transportation it's a tough ride. They have to get up hours before to take their bus to their job . So I feel for these people.
@bradleymiller437

No you wouldn't. Send a rail up through center that goes from Campbell to Sanford. And along it have a bus that does a rectangular circuit route that dissects the rail. [|] but have the brackets go out horizontally much further. Have 10 of these plus hoppers that will kick you out into Orlando and express lines that will take you across sectors.

And that's why everyone who can afford a car drives. It's what happens when cities don't prioritize walkability and public transit, but rather go out there way to "improve" traffic flow by adding more lanes and more roads. And when buses are infrequent and get stuck in traffic to where it's never going to be faster than driving, there's the culprit.

The only place you can live without a car and use public transport in Florida is maybe if you lived in a condo in Downtown Miami and worked around the City of Miami area but the small city of Miami itself is very unsafe

It's 2024 and Miami now is considered one of the safest cities. Miami also now has Brightline all the way to Orlando plus the TRI-Rail extension into downtown. The latest extension will be Metromover to South Beach starting next year.

It’s so sad that she cannot be actively. They’re seeing her kids grow up. Obviously she is but the fact that public transportation here in central Florida is a literal joke. Bus stops in random areas. If she had a car, she could rest more, spend time more with her kids, but no, this is literally survival mode

@@wturner777 I would have the money because I have a job and know how to save. Also have good credit with high credit limits. If your car breaks down and you can’t afford to fix it, it is literally only your fault. People being bad with money shouldn’t be coddled.

@@chippewaguy4193 Again, you're judging. You could be excellent at handling money, but don't even make enough to even cover all the expenses on a car, or even afford a car in the first place. Sure you can go to school in hopes to get a better paying job. But when you have mouths to feed RIGHT NOW, as a parent you put your children first over yourself. What cities really need to do is to invest heavily in transit oriented development so that there will be better, more efficient alternatives to driving. The reason everyone drives in Orlando is because it's the fastest mode of transportation, and that's why there's always congestion. That has to change to get more people to walk, cycle, or use public transit.

@@wturner777 I can judge anybody at anytime. She can get a job closer to her house. I will never feel bad for someone reaping what they sowed. Have kids at an early age and work for minimum wage is 100% their fault. Also you don’t need to go to school to get a decent job. I went to Valencia community college for about two weeks until I decided it was a waste for me. Never went to school and got a skills job work your way up.
