I'm wondering how this is then distributed to students. Do you share and prompt them to make a copy? and if so, is there any way to add more acitivity pages to the notebook after it has been distributed?

I was thinking to share a copy to each student for each week. I would plan ahead for the week with all of the activities that I'll want them to do (as far as notes, guided practice, and independent practice/homework). If you share it out, and want to add pages to it, I'm pretty sure (if you're working on the main Google Sheet that you got the link from) it will add to their copies, they'll just have to refresh the page if they're working on it. Hope this helps!

I love this idea. After 27 years of teaching I want to try digital notebooks. I’m not sure I understand how the students use it. I’m very interested in seeing your video of student use. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you for sharing!

Do you only use Google classroom or do you happen to know of this would work on Canvas also?
@mathdojo80694 жыл бұрын
You set up your Google Document, share and publish it, then go to Canvas and embed the document into a Canvas Page. Embedding a shared Google document enables you and your students to work on the document together or in groups, synchronously or asynchronously. Hope this helps!

How do you take the screen shot so quickly? I've been using snipping tool but your way seemed much quicker

If you’re working on a Mac it’s command, shift, and 4.. after you press those buttons it’ll make you a “selector cross thing” that will allow you to drag your cursor to select (or crop) what you want to screen shot! 🤩

When students need to turn in the notebook, what do they need to click? I am using a notebook for exit tickets but I would like to see their response every day. How can be done? I would like to assign one notebook for the nine weeks. However, once students turn it in so I can see their response, it doesn't let them type anymore. Please help!:(

You need to have them "Turn In" their DINB for each day/week that you want to "check their work"... Then you need to grade their work for those pages (let the kids know, their grade will go up, it's just now low because there are only a few pages graded). Grading works well with rubrics (I can make an updated video if you'd like)... But after you grade it, you need to RETURN the DINB to them, and once it's returned, they can view the assignment and still make changes! There will be a "RESUBMIT" button, and you can keep doing that pattern of resubmit, grade, return... hope this helps!!! Hope you're having a great start to your year! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
