I now have something to practice for the next few weeks/months. Thank you for extending the lesson from your previous video about double stops and glazing over the theoretical aspect of it with examples of using different intervals. Researching this knowledge and pairing it with this lesson will help indefinitely. Also, love the solo! Thank you!

Thanks. Another way to view this is 3rd is part of both major and minor chord - 135, 613 and the sixths sound great on a minor pentatonic because of the harmony in that chord and scale. Ofcourse when we go off the Ionian and it's derivative scales, we can accordingly pick doubles of notes that are in harmony with the scale to add colour to the melody being played

The Key here is to know how to play the scale along the fretboard as you do bc I can't follow the pattern you play from the B string on 10th fret all the way up. Is there another video of yours explaining these ways of playing scales? I really like the way you explain this content, you make it clear honestly.

Ok, I was there when he was doing the parallel double stops but then I got lost. Looked to me like he was playing notes outside the A minor pentatonic when playing intervals.....even ends on an F .....6th string first fret. When was that note ever in the A minor pentatonic? Or do you just pick one note in the pentatonic and then play the second note - 3rd, 4th or 6th interval wherever it lands even when it's not in the pentatonic scale???

Great lesson and great teacher! I don't have a good enough ear to tell from watching, are they all diatonic 3rds, 4ths and 6ths or just intervals regardless of whether they fit in the scale or not? If they're not diatonic do you think it would be a good exercise to practice these all diatonically? Thanks again for such awesome content man. You need to release more original stuff you should make a second channel similar to mateus' where you just post jams/comps :D
@DarrylSyms6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments bro! I hope to post a bunch of dope jams/comps this year so keep a lookout! 😄 Also all of these intervals are diatonic 👌 It’s best to learn diatonically before exploring non diatonic harmony 👍
@JAM174116 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty confused about the intervals part. Your in A minor, so shouldn't you be playing the minor thirds only? your playing major and minor thirds or is there a pattern I'm just not seeing? Thanks great content btw
@DarrylSyms6 жыл бұрын
Great question! An interval is the distance between two pitches. If A was my first pitch then C would be a minor third of that. If C was my first pitch then E would be a major third of that. C and E are both in the key of Aminor, but in the second example I am highlighting the gap between C and E, not A and E or any other combination. Does that make sense?
@keithrowe76175 жыл бұрын
Very cool and informative lesson. Thank you. I also love that - to my eyes - you have the most ugly, butchered, guitar on the tube, with bits removed and mismatched parts. And I like that you carry on as if it was perfectly normal. Two thumbs up.
@DarrylSyms5 жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks Keith, I appreciate that! 🙂 That’s my style for now 💁♂️ Repping the fact that, it doesn’t matter what guitar you have, it’s the practice, tone, and determination that counts 🤙
