I used a deck paint that I got from Total Boat to paint my floors and I painted over my shiny aluminum diamond plate just like you have on your front deck! That was hard for me to do but as pretty as it is, the stuff is slippery when wet. The deck paint comes in different colors and has a no slip additive that makes it grippy. It worked very well. Anything from Total Boat is pricy so I'll give this a look if and when I decide to rebuild another boat. It isn't what I'd call fun but is very gratifying. I look forward to seeing your second coat.

It’s on now. I used the 9 inch rollers on the bottom and it put it nice and thick! Almost ran out of it on the floor. I did use my last 4 inch roller on the boxes. I need to buy a quart to go over the boxes again or maybe I will spray paint it. I don’t know how the spray paint will work on it.

I ended up selling the boat. After removing the rear bench I saw how weak the transom area became. SeaArk uses the bench as a rib.

You need a random orbit hand sander not that small low powered one for corners. That does not do big jobs. Durabak is great paint!! Pity they don't make custom colors or metallics or have a higher shine to it.
