Artist Mairi Stone is using what looks like a glass paint inside her little dishes and it seems to stay on the walls of the dishes too…the colours are stunning

I think the reason the glass is "crazed" or broken, is because its thermal exlansion coëfficient is higher. The melting point of silica is lowered with sodium/Na or potassium/K, that is the most common glass we know. But heat resistant glass that is not tempered (labratory glass) is made with a borium/B addition. Borium glass has way lower expansion when heated. Which is why is fire proof/resistant to uneven heating. Try Borium glass for less crazed an chippy glaze.

Would it be possible to mix the glass powder with the glaze and paint it on? To try to get it to melt down the inside of the bowl

The dish more than likely broke off like that because you probably used 2 different types of COE glass, different makes of glass will have different COE(coefficient of expansion-a measurement of how the glass expands and contracts when heated and cooled down ) if your glass has two different rates such as COE 90 glass and COE 1 04 glass is incompatible and will crack on Cooling down. I only know this because I work with glass And it’s a hard and fast rule never to mix different glass manufacturers

Why so much talking and not action? Is not what the title of the video suggests…
