About the game:
Instruments of Destruction features an advanced physics-based destruction system. You can demolish every structure in the game piece by piece. In addition, every object you see in the game world--save for small decorative plants and rocks--is part of the physics system. Each element of the world interacts with each other and together they create a physical, visceral world to play with.
Build Your Vehicle
Build a vehicle your way, with an ever-expanding array of parts and pieces. Using an intuitive vehicle construction system that also lets you customize your vehicles' appearance and controls, you'll always have fun creating your next awesome invention.
From simple splitters to advanced joints, a variety of parts slowly unlock as you play through the game, and each unlocks countless new possibilities.
While some vehicles will perform better than others in accomplishing your objectives, it's always a bit more fun to get creative and go a little off script. Optional bonus challenges and objectives will reward more creative builders and add more replayability.

Video idea. Remake challenge: You get one item from the workshop for each game (Instruments of Destruction, Trailmakers, Scrap Mechanic), from there, your job is to see just how much each game stacks up to eachother by trying to replicate the contraption, it's looks and it's functionality in the other 2 games. You could even split it into categories. Walkers, flyers, non-vehicle devices, ect and then grade how they do in each category per game.

2:07 I think your creation was actually snapping between both positions super fast, because there were 2 different streams of particles from the thruster. It's just that the game wasn't showing you that it was flipping that fast

I'd like to see you play around with 4 gyros at the corners, turn them on/off with logic to maybe get ultra stable and allow some unique movement effects. Maybe you can hover while locked in at a 45 degree angle?

Well I've been watching Scrapman for a long time and I've been debating getting Instruments of Destruction because of him SOOO now I have to get it and build a proper quad drone with self stabilization because this project is unnecessarily over engineered lmao hopefully SM will check it out one day when its all done!

I think what made it look so cool was the particles of the thrusters, it was super neat looking at them, like sparks in the air being flicked away by the propeller blades. That's just my opinion tho.

Basically a ticker for the vertical stabilization Just use a timer block and toggle the propeller once you let go off the input

i made somthing like this a while ago. but in beseige. the pulsing effect and dropping can be minimized by having a prop at center mass above or below the craft with just enough lift to make the whole thing buoyant enough to keep it from going up and down really fast to counteract gravity constantly. and the sensor is used for that slight adjustment. this is pulsing because the full weight of the craft is falling then lifting in a feedback loop with the full weight of gravity.

I know that this probably won't get seen, but in case you didn't know. Yaw on drones is done by letting 2 of the opposite motors rotate faster, thus making a torque. just lookup "drone motor direction" to see what I mean

Fi you can use the logic to set a start spin speed for the propellers (being the speed at Wich you hover) then you could ste it up so that when you press up the propellers speed up and then return to start speed when realesd. Same with down. That would work mush better

Video idea: A drone that drops bladed bombs that spin on the way down and on impact with the ground it detached and explodes the blades outwards which causes massive destruction to the building foundation (hold about 8-10 bombs)

Seeing how well the seat with just the gyro flew, I wonder if you could but it at a slight angle and have a plane with just gyro, thruster, seat and one flex beam. Alternatively, what happens when you put two gyros up and one one the front, that also wants to point up?

You had full control from the beginning since you had the propellers :-D And it would not be that much different to program it with this strong propellers and slow falling. Also now you have to make this in trailmakers :-D you did not prove that it is easy to make a drone too :-D

What if you made a sort of catapult type thing using a stick on a hinge with a gyro at the end? Would that work? Or alternatively something that uses a gyro to SLAM on a building with a heavy hammer or something.

You could've tried putting a swivel at the bottom of the drone that had the jets attached to it. The laser could've also gone on that swivel.
