Hello Gino. Since -1 ang numerical coefficient ng I2, pwede na syang hindi isulat as -1(I2). -1(I2) equals -I2 pa rin naman. just like for example the expression x-y same lang sya as 1x-1y, we are used to omit the number 1 na kapag sya ang numerical coefficient. Hindi nagbago ang equation. :)

You can always assume any direction ng current muna to proceed sa KVL at KCL, (if hindi given sa problem). Your final answers sa current will dedetermine if tama ba or mali ang direction. Kapag positive na nakuha mong answer, tama ang direction. If negative ang nakuha mong answer, baliktad ang direction. (Just like at the end of the video, negative value ang lumabas sa I3, indicating that the assumed direction is opposite the actual. But, that does not invalidate the solution.)

Please refer to 5:35 (in determining the sign of the voltages/IR na gagamitin sa loop). Focusing on the 8V source, un loop #1, lumabas sya sa positive terminal of the source. That's why positive 8 sya. Thanks

The given circuit does not have given current direction, inassume muna natin sya na upward. What we are sure is that, un 8 V source natin, fixed ang orientation nya, (sa symbol of DC source diba, longer line indicates + terminal, shorter line indicates - terminal) We can assume any direction of current sa kirrchoff's law because at the end of the solution, kapag may values na tayo g current, doon natin malalaman kung tama ba o baliktad ang inassume nating direction of the current; (a negative value of current, hints us na baliktad ang assumed direction natin sa actual direction).
