I would have just used the Busch box, and made a beer tap for the gear shift which I have done for my truck using multiple handles including mounting bobbleheads on my tailgate, my truck was in the Paradise fire and caught on fire and is a 76 stepside given to me from my customer that was up there, he was a WWII Vet as was my dad..........The spirit of 76 saved it! $9,000 later it still looks like it was in a fire even on the inside but it drives great! Glad I just discovered this channel I can relate to a mess that has potential...

A suggestion: The outside radius of your plexiglass will be closer to the inside of the sheet metal than vice versa. Try putting metal in the oven convex side down and lay the plexiglass inside it.

Two things you can do to increase the hardness of the lexian Slash plexy is by putting a coat of ceramic coating over the inside and outside this will stop it from getting those swirly scratches or you can get 2K clear and paint over the top of it with 2K clear and it will keep it from yellowing I prefer the ceramic coating less the other way sometimes flakes off

The glass for these corner windows is readily available. I've got an extra set myself. They were free in a box of parts when I was building my 50s truck. I looked them up on several classic truck sites and they aren't all that expensive.

His problem was that he Chopped the truck . He had the original glass but it was to tall and not wide enough. I had thought the same thing at first. I could only imagine how much $$$$ it would cost to have those two window glasses made .

That sheet is pretty thick, relatively speaking for Lexan I have seen used for automotive "glass". Most of the time its 1/8 or 3/16ths with a pretty gradual change of direction or curvature. Something where a hairdryer might and a heat gun certainly could be used. Its sort of like chocolate, soft, softer and suddenly goes too close to liquid that you can't handle it. A thought, IF that one "reject" is scrap, put in back in the oven and experiment with the heat; based on Lexan properties it should blister when too hot. Info that I can find suggests that at a certain thickness both male and female molds are needed, but no real specific information is actually given.
@vipersniper843 Жыл бұрын
Just about to try this. thumb nail says Lexan but heard you say acrylic . Just ordered Lexan but has to be preheated for a while to get water ( moisture ) out of it or will have bubbles in product. Just got to make a fly vent window for square body. thanks. Just re watching again not sure if I should have ordered acrylic

Half a wobbly pop time wise you say hmmm idk, seemed like you were sippin and enjoying that wobbly pop. I'd probably be down a 12 pack by the time the lexan was soft enough. Yes I have a problem, don't judge me.
