Using life experience in your writing. Katya Balen on her experiences working with young carers

Lorna from Bromley Well Young Carers Service asks author Katya Balen about her inspiration for the characters in her book "The Space We're In".
"The Space We're In" is a children's book about 10 year old Frank and his autistic brother Max. Bromley Well's Young Carers Book Club read it during the COVID-19 lockdown and absolutely loved it. Katya joined in the club as they were finishing the last chapters of the book - great excitement!
