NO WAY, Rob!!!!! I grew up in Memphis. I fished Sardis, Tunica (before the casinos destroyed everything) and Enid Lakes in North MS. We used to catch well over 100 2-3lb Crappie every trip! SLABS!! Man, I miss those days. Glad you glad you got to fish at my old stomping grounds!! .................... AFTER 18 MINUTES INTO THIS VIDEO: Brother, I can tell you, in the 70's and 80's when I was fishing this lake, we DID NOT have the same technology you guys have!!! Lolol We put our CANE POLES right up next to those stumps and Cypress trees and watched the bobber drop! Completely different deal, for you guys!! :-) Thank you for a wonderful trip down memory lane! And, thanks to Ms. Laura for a completely new take on cooking Crappie!! I ate 'em fried, my entire life. ..... I hope we can fish together some day. Peace, bro!

The cinematography of your videos is incredible. It sucks that youtube demands such a churn to promote a channel. These videos should have a million each

Lately I've been thinking because of this technology that I hope more anglers practice a good balance of catch and release with catch and keep. I can see that the future is going to birth stricter regulations on how many fish are allowed to be kept by anglers in all categories. There's more effecting the coming regulations changes than just the invention of live scope, social media is responsible for so many more fish being caught...

When i l hooked up a fish finder on my first boat years back i just drove around slowly learning the bottom contours and putting together the whole picture of where i fished. I can only imagine using this technology to figure out patterns more quickly 🤔

That last prego crappie coulda went back to the water. But other than that, good stuff!

Why? It was only 13.9” and less than 2 lbs. most legal keepers that time of year are around that size. We release big crappie, aka those 15” and larger. Not calling you out but unless you fish these lakes 200-300 times per year as we do (and did in this video) you might not have an appreciation for the actual size of fish that “coulda or shoulda” went back in.

Bro, you have zero understanding of crappie ecology. Fish don’t breed or bread, as you suggest. They spawn. We weren’t targeting spawning crappie because it was the pre-spawn. We were targeting barely legal keepers, zero fish over 2.5 lbs, zero fish over 15”. In Mississippi, these fish we caught were only 1”-2.5” above the minimum. If we don’t harvest fish of this size the lake can and will become overpopulated. Our limit to release is 12” and under. Sorry your dietary preferences or inability to catch large crappie causes you to be unfanned.
