Using My New Lathe to Make a Thing. Axminster Metal Working Lathe Sieg C2-300 Mini 230v KSKS

Here I am using my new metal working lathe for the first time. Its a decent little lathe. I installed this lathe in a gap in my workshop that fits it perfectly, great for diy projects. I made a little magnet pen thing for my EDC because normal pens feel too big in your pocket. Using some brass rod that I already had in the metal working side of my workshop, I drilled out the centre to accept the length of the pen refill and then drilled the end to accept the cap, I then flipped it and repeated the process to accept a small magnet. I then pulled out the brass and used a revolving centre to finish the length of it, I used the autofeed to do this, then I turned the tool and put in a few grooves for no reason at all. I filed the end by hand to make getting the pen out nice and easy. I got the pen refills and tiny magnets off amazon.

Is this for cutting soft metals only?

I’ve done stainless on it but it takes a lot of time and carbide tools 👍

You have a toilet bowl in the open! in your workshop?.... is it working ? ...that would be funny as f..k!

Yeah it works, I don’t use it though. My workshop is in my basement. There’s a proper bathroom upstairs
