10 years ago I stayed in a small village outside Nuremberg, Germany and was never out of sight of solar panels..they were on homes, on barns, on silos, on stands on the ground..would’ve been interesting to know how efficient they were being in a cold country..always happy to see solar 🙏🏻👍🏻
@demil36182 жыл бұрын
Most of these solar panels were state-sponsored on the condition that you were feeding back into the grid- to their conditions. The state sponsorship also never covered any self-initiative, only fully purchased services and supplies. This has ended now and the rewards for feeding the grid have gone down as well. There are still some sponsoring schemes but again, they never cover self-initiative. So today you‘d be out of pocket by at least the same amount but with much lower payback.

Same for us. You can have a small system to run essentials during power outages (eg lights, fan, fridge, tv). Relieves the boredom. If space in the garden, panels can be put on a frame rather than roof.

you don't need to wait for it to restart incase you loose your battery power. just monitor the solar production if it produces high enough power(probably 9am in the morning) you can turn off and on the sytem for the inverter to function again. i do it with mine also offgrid.

We are leaving the UK tomorrow to live in Digos City near Davao. Our new house is now complete. Never even thought about solar power until I watched your videos about it. Now our priority is to see if we can find solar suppliers in Davao or Digos. Been researching on options for solar power and this is the most relevant video I've found. Our deep well water system even looks the same! I've gotten quotes from 3 different solar companies, unfortunately they're not able to explain the technology as detailed as you guys have. Will shoot you an email for a possible collab. This likely may be the first, if not the most realistic, documentation about going full solar and its usage, in a location where solar power would typically be most needed, thank you for sharing your 30-day experience. Were you at all able to communicate with the solar facility you stayed at north of the island (assuming they, too, came out okay after TS "Odette"); exchange usage issues and matters of that sort with them? How did you plan for and are able to ensure that the panels would withstand winds like that of TS "Odette?" That said, are you considering supporting your grid with lower-scale wind energy, say specifically for your pump?

Breaker A and breaker B , having both connected to the solar system but only 1 A will be on and B will be off but if system gets low than I can switch off A and switch on B then when charging is 100 percent switch back and charge A back to 100 percent.

Since you're near the beach, is it consistently windy that a wind turbine generator could be used. Doesn't have to be a windmill but probably a vertical wind turbine so that it has a smaller footprint but at least a consistent output even at night.

Thank you so much for the update. I am now contemplating on moving to solar energy which I should have done years ago ..... My only suggestion is to make it typhoon proof. Maybe put some steel reinforcements and cover if you can on the roof for your solar panels or something to protect it just in case another typhoon hits the island. I hope it never happens again but it's better to be prepared since you are sitting close to the Philippine Sea / North Pacific Ocean and sad to say all the weather disturbances comes from that side (east) and moves in a westerly direction (towards the eastern side of the country). I don't know how much the panels are but I am guessing that the cost is a big chunk of that 700k you guys had to fork out thanks to the slow progress of the grid power coming back online. So, as they say - "protect your investment'. Keep safe everyone. - Cheers

Parts replacements? Battery life? Solar panel life? When are they expected to wear out, and therefore need to be replaced? Is there a maintenance contract for periodic service calls? Halogen light bulbs could last for decades at a fraction of the wattage of the old fashioned light bulbs. They've come down in price considerably.

Hi, congratulations. i’m interested on your new set up (Solar Phovoltaic System). 1-Do you have a separate Kwhr meter feeding the grid, and how will the Electricity company will compensate the solar energy provider (like you). 2-Amazing you can run 3-AC’s at the same time (24 hrs) and with all the other loads, as needed. What is the wattage of your AC’s. I assumed with the physical size of it, maybe around 3/4 hp, and are they Inverter type AC or non-inverter type. 3-With the situation not knowing when the grid will resume power. Then going solar is right. Hope you can share how many years, the return of investment is. THANKS.
