Hey Skipper

Күн бұрын

We caught something BIG. Learn which fishing bait to use while beach fishing as we go through popular fishing baits and how to use each bait on the hook in order to catch more fish. Clams, squid, shrimp, spot, and mullet are all effective at catching fish but presentation matters. Comment below which is your favorite fishing bait to use?
We are beach fishing in North Carolina with my mom and dad this week, and I’m happy to be able to show my mom how to use bait on the beach to catch fish together. Beach fishing is a fun activity for the whole family. We weren’t expecting to catch such a big fish but that’s what makes fishing fun! You never know what you’re going to get.

Caught a 20lbs Horn Shark on a chunky Atlantic Mackerel Filet in Manhattan Pier here in California. I did a dropper loop on a 2/0 Mustad Demon Circle Hook. 30lbs Mono(P-Line). Also congrats on that great fight! The fact that you were fighting such a big creature on 20lbs line is HUGEEE. Skilled anglers 100%!!!

I've always wanted to do surf casting. Being from the PNW, we dont have a wide variety of fish like I see from his shows. But our sea perch are hugely massive in size. I can't wait to get out there and get some.

🦈 What a family effort ! It could have been one person working the fish resulting in 1 memory but instead 4 memory's can be shared equally for years to come. Your Dad's wisdom was spot on. Your gear was not intended for that and you "All" worked within the constraints you had. Well done 👍

Yeah it's pretty much only two options if it's close enough you drag it out backwards by its tail. If you're not familiar enough or too scared you can lasso it with a strong enough rope around its tail to give you distance between it and drag it out that way

We in South Africa usually fish with a shock leader of about 8m / 24ft ranging in strength from 40pd upwards. We also use the fish finder rig, but both leader and sinker line can be up to a 1m long. If we specifically target sharks we use a bite trace of approximately 30cm / 6in of between 60 to120pd nylon coated wire / fish mate or similar.

You have inspired me to go saltwater fishing! I have been freshwater fishing (again) since 2018, such a joy to rediscover something I loved doing as a child and into my early teens. Now I am teaching my grandkids, but I've been intimidated by saltwater fishing. Thanks to your tutorials, I think I'm ready to give it a go. Even purchased some of your salty bits to improve my odds of catching. What fun it will be, especially to show my grandkids the wonder of saltwater fishing!! Thanks and tight lines!!!

Love your channel! My explanation for rod tips with fish vs. not is 1) fish with more than 1 rod 2) they will move in sympathy with the waves with normal distance between rods, so if one is a good bit out of sync with the other rod tip(s), check your line!

I caught about a 5 ft sandbar shark, around 120 lbs off a jetty on Cape Cod. It was about 4 in the morning with rough, terrible conditions. I used a full mackerel and it took it out in less than five minutes of hitting the water. It's such a great feeling, and the anticipation of seeing your rod bend, peeling off that line.
