As part of my interview process, I had to do a presentation to a group of folks. I took it for granted that I will have Presenter view showing on my side, and just slides on their side. Hell, I was utterly wrong and I was presented with a full slideshow screen. This video will save a lot of people!

If you find that sharing a portion of the screen results in a fuzzy looking slide, it is likely because you have a lower resolution screen. The common 1366 x 768 screen doesn't have enough pixels when sharing a portion to create a crisp image for the attendees. This article shares two alternatives for lower resolution screens: www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/alternatives-to-sharing-a-portion-of-presenter-view-with-1-screen-in-zoom-windows-so-you-can-see-your-notes/

Thanks for a concise and instructive video! The question I had the wasn't answered was: how do I get a KZbin video to run in Presenter mode? I have learned that I need to have the Edge browser open, but clicking on the slide doesn't work the same way it does in slide show mode, and I can't find the relevant setting >.< I'll keep searching! Thanks for what you've got here
@ThinkOutsideTheSlide2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you found the video helpful. The simplest way to play a KZbin video as part of a PowerPoint presentation is to insert the video onto a slide. Then the video can play as part of the slide show without having to use a browser. The current slide portion of Presenter View will show the video playing. If you are using a single screen, you may also want to see if one of my newer videos on this setup might work better for you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6HbY5aIm9h6jc0

Don't forget that when selecting a portion of the screen you are using fewer pixels that then constitute the whole frame sent to Zoom. So the smaller portion you select means a lower resolution and quality for participants which e.g. might compromise clarity of small text.
@ThinkOutsideTheSlide4 жыл бұрын
You are correct that selecting a portion of the screen uses fewer pixels and is lower resolution. That's why I recommend making the slide size bigger in Presenter View. If you are using a large high-res monitor, there should be little impact on the quality of what the attendee sees. The lower resolution may also help if you have attendees who have bandwidth restrictions or are on slower connections.
