Hi, nice demonstration! You are left handed, right? I'm left handed too, but all the kits come for right handed... is there a quick way to change them all for left handed people? Or yo had to change pad by pad in every kit manually?? Thank you!!!
@limitlessdrums26806 ай бұрын
Hi, I play both left and right handed. Are you asking about the standard kits or the ones I made for the Octapad Upgrade pack? Mine are a mix of left and right handed (and footed!), but if you want to change anything you will need to copy and paste things around, yes I don't believe the Octapad has any kind of left-handed setting unfortunately. I hope it's not too annoying to move things about!

If I upgrade a snare like the PDX100 will it have positional sensing? The pad itself does support this feature, but does the Octapad support it?
@limitlessdrums26803 жыл бұрын
Hey, the Octapad doesn't support work for that, as anything plugged in just acts as a trigger - and the Octapad pads themselves don't have any kind of positional sensing. You'll need a pretty decent module to use PS on a snare

Hi there. Just came across your channel as I was researching the SPD-30, which I've now bought. It's an amazing bit of kit - a complete game-changer for me. I wanted to ask a question about the FD-9 controller I'm using. I'm getting on very well with it, but I can't see a way of increasing the volume of the 'count' or 'splash' ie. the sound triggered by opening and closing the hi-hat rather than striking the designated hi-hat pad itself. On my TD-25 kit your can adjust the hi-hat splash volume, without effecting the volume of the hi-hat trigger itself when played with sticks. Am I missing something? Is that independent volume control available? thanks again - great channel! Best - Chris
@limitlessdrums26802 жыл бұрын
Hey, so if you hit Menu > Pad > HH Pedal (scroll right) then you can adjust the hihat sensitivity. I have mine on -6 but you can go all the way to +10. Also keep in mind that in the External pad settings you can change the Sensitivity of the hihat pedal. Hope that helps!
@ChrisSmith-td1dl2 жыл бұрын
@@limitlessdrums2680 Thanks for that. So in this instance 'sensitivity' equates to volume - ie it's the only way of making the pedal 'chick' louder? Cheers
@limitlessdrums26802 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisSmith-td1dl @Chris Smith yep, have a play with those two sensitivity settings, and the hihat volume overall (in the instrument settings and you should find the sweet spot. Hope you're enjoying the FD-9!

@@limitlessdrums2680 Cheers for that - will do. The Octopus is a game-changer for me. It's a superb bit of kit - will be gigging with it thru September at festival gigs - it's just so portable and quick to set up - can't resist that. @Kreln12213 жыл бұрын
@@SchwappSchwopp I don't know if the SPD-30 has full positional sensing like some of the TD modules..., but even if not..., the PDX-100 is a full piezo/piezo dual trigger, so even if you assign completely different sounds to the rim and head, you have two well made and sensitive sensors... To be honest..., the sensor arrangement for the head hasn't changed or developed much from the original PD-120 design that shipped with the TD-10 decades ago..., but the sensor design for the rim has greatly improved, and in the PDX-100, the rim sensor is located centrally, but underneath the batter head cone sensor assembly, and is triggered by the force of the rim being focused in the middle of the back... It's a bit complex to try to explain, but long story short, it gives you two very good and sensitive piezo sensor triggers... If you add the three different mounting options, (tom mount, pole mount, or traditional stand), well..., there you go...

I didn’t get a lead with my FD-8 pedal and I think I used a guitar cable (mono) and will try to find a stereo cable to try out whether it’s the cable that’s stopping proper communication with the spd-30. But assuming the stereo cable is what’s needed, do I need to programme anything for the spd-30 to have that lovely hi hat control?
