I have used a BUNCH of Sharkhide. I worked for a fab shop that specialized in Aluminum and Stainless. We built custom bodies for truck beds completely in house for Veterinarians and Farriers. We religiously finished the outside of the bodies with Sharkhide. On aluminum, it keept it from oxidizing when guys would run it through a acid based wash cycle at a car wash. It really makes stainless look "wet". We would often "swirl" our truck bodies and Sharkhide helped to seal it back up after the abrasive had removed that top layer of Aluminum. A few tips, use a clean cotton rag every time, DO NOT use a microfiber towel (when it gets tacky the fibers will pull out and stick in your material), when covering a large area go from top to bottom and go in one direction (watch for runs and spots that didn't get covered as they stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the material), We used a 75/25 mixture of Fuel additive and water for cleaning material. It seemed to pull more containments up to the surface and its super cheap. I was going through at least 1 can of Sharkhide a week. great stuff!

@@JustVoss I have a ls swapped foxbody (who doesn't lol). I did the roll cage in it from scratch in chromoly. Not a professional by any stretch but enjoy watching content that may become of use in the future.

That thing came out perfect. It gives me an idea for a gate. I wanna weld a Zia Symbol out of stainless pie cuts and use it as a driveway gate. Using the empire abrasives surface prep wheels, that thing would look sweet.

I Use Johnson's Furniture Wax On My Bare Metal Art And I Have Several Pieces That Are Over 5 Years Old That Show No Signs Of Rust. Heck They Still Look As Good As On Day 1 To Me. Think I Will Stick With It To Since This Stuff Is $67 For That Small Can. That Will Buy A Lot Of Wax Plus A Meal Or Two. At That Price I Sure Hope It Works For You. Cheers John

Whenever I wax metal the first step is to clean it thoroughly with Acetone then I use a propane torch to heat the metal to about 150 F and apply wax when it cools to 85 F. I leave it on for 30 minutes then buff it off. I do this om my machine tops as well. In 30 years of using this method It has kept rust from developing anywhere. My Machines get a wax job in March and again in September When I do their regular maintenance. Hope This Helps.

@OldManYoungMind do you have any experience putting paste wax on cold bare steel (not heating it up)? I have about 80 feet of interior bare steel railing to clear and heating that much railing isn't practical. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
